Location: Mini forest near my partner’s house.

Object: African mask I bought in Italy. I lost a lot of confidence recently and don’t feel like my face is what I want to focus on and photograph.

Self portrait: No clothes as a symbol of a nature (yes, it was cold). I grew up in a small town near forest and mountains in southwest Poland. Always been an outdoorsy kind of person and there’s nothing more relaxing than quiet place somewhere in the nature.

I’ve decided to use 8 images as my finals to show better my model and his job.

I have decided to convert this picture to B&W as it looks in my opinion deeper and highlights the shadows. I positioned key light on the left side of the model face, between his hands and face. creating deeper shadows on the right side of the face, meanwhile keeping hands dark. His hands, one up side one down side also create a small contrast. Here’s a comparison of the colour and B&W

Philip. I like the mood of that picture. Focus is good and light is soft.

Kasia. I used a huge black hat to flag the darker side of the face. \window light.

Iona. I used a window light. Iona’s head is on the sunny spot and her partner sitting in the shadow - that makes him dark and more on the second plan.
