thank you so much for the tag @elceewunjo ! ^u^ I got...
...and I'm surprised honestly! I personally love Zevlor but i know he has his fair share of haters? xD which is a shame imo but I hope the quiz maker is a Zevlor-appreciator. in which case I will take this as a compliment. :3 I do technically do well in leadership positions but I HATE being in them lmao
I'm not 100% sure who has or hasn't done this yet but I'm gonna go ahead and drop some tags for @the-red-drow @ignistigator and @taras-toe-beans!

Hello!! Happy Birthday!! love so much your Tav and your posts about Wyll!!
Have a nice day!!
thank you so much! ^o^ I see you around from time to time and I love your art! <3 it means the world to me that you like my tav and also my Wyllposting! c: Wyll needs more Posting overall haha 💛 I hope you have a lovely day as well.
thank you very much to @elceewunjo for the tag! c: I squealed with delight when I read that you'd become so fond of writing the friendship between Storm and Tav hehe, I really love their dynamic myself. x3 and I was immensely honored to be tagged in your faves section from this past year. ;u; I am so delighted you enjoyed that piece so much.
there may have been other lovely folks who tagged me for this one but I have so much catching up to do I'm probably just gonna thank-you tag whoever was the most recent to do so on these heh I hope that's okay. <3
passing on the tag to @quinthebard @tillysketch @the-red-drow @wisdomcaster and @the-starflower ! if you already did it please feel free to drop me a link so I can make sure I see it. <3
1. Favorite character to write for or about?
Well. xD haha my one singular OC for bg3 is of course Jahen. ;3 I deeply enjoy him both as a source of general comfort and creativity but also as a writing outlet. He feels complex and interesting to work with, yet also carries the bone-deep compassion that I find in almost all of my favorite characters to write.
For factory-setting bg3 characters I think I wanna say Karlach! Her inner voice is just an absolute blast to play with. One of my favorite lines I've written all year was her thinking on the first sunset she sees outside Avernus as a "pinky-orange" color. :D so many other characters I've written before would just think "a pink and orange sunset." but Karlach just smushes them together. it felt so right. I love her so much.
2. Least favorite character to write for or about?
In a vacuum, I don't think any of the companions are unpleasant to write! c: I absolutely adore all of the bg3 "main cast." however, I will admit, in the public fandom space of tumblr I can get a little resentful when people come to my blog and spam like/reblog only my astarion posts and upon visiting their blogs I find bad faith takes about Wyll or Lae'zel. T_T it just feels... bad. because of that, I've completely scrapped several Astarion meta posts I'd originally intended to write just for fun. It's not his fault though, obviously, I think no less of him as a character for it.
3. Favorite pairing
Jahen x Wyll is one of the very few romantic pairings I've ever passionately enjoyed writing. ^o^ "romance" is often difficult for me as an aroace person to fully grasp, let alone put into words for other people to read, but the "Briarblade" dynamic is so rich in so many ways that I find their chemistry comes to me more naturally than I even could have hoped for. Jahen x Halsin is fun for me too, but I lean more heavily on my general understanding of affection/adoration to support that writing.
I haven't done a lot of actually words-to-document writing of these yet, but I am also a big fan of Wyll x Karlach and Karlach x Shadowheart. :3 I do plan to write for the former with Jahen included in the mix, and I'll probably always be sprinkling little hints in for the latter in whatever I end up writing and posting for this fandom.
4. Least favorite pairing
I only like Bloodweave when it's funny. 😂 too-serious bloodweave stuff does nothing for me. I technically have one more actual least-favorite pairing buuut I think it would just cause hurt feelings if I ranted about it so I'm gonna keep it to myself. it's literally not an opinion that matters whatsoever it's just a pet peeve/personal taste thing. xD
5. Favorite POV and Tense
my favorite across all the writing I've ever done is third-person-limited, past-tense. but my favorite for bg3 specifically is third-person-limited, present tense - mainly because that's the tense the game itself is narrated in and I like that congruence. :3
6. Something new you did this year?
This is the very first time I have played a male oc as the POV protagonist in a video game. :D every other time I've played some kind of game where you can choose your gender I've made a woman oc. the one exception I guess you could say is that I played a male hawke in DA2, but I don't consider him my "oc" since hawke is pretty heavily characterized by the default game's story. Jahen is my first personalized video game character that is not a woman. :] I guess I technically started playing bg3 at the tail end of 2024 but I really want to count this lmao
7. Something other people have told you that you're good at:
people do seem to like my "how things might work in this world" essays. :3 this is VERY pleasing to me. my two favorites from this past year were Waypoints and Food Logistics.
8. Something you think you're good at:
I am really fond of putting together long-form plots actually. I haven't really had a chance to show this off yet here on this blog, but someday I hope to be able to. I have some longfics in the works and I think they're suitably complex and interesting. c:
9. Something you want to improve on:
I'm not a super prose-y writer. I can write that way in something standalone, but I'm not good at working that style into more character-oriented pieces (like with superego and id principles). I've seen folks who can weave prose in-and-out of more active styles of writing, and i'd love to be able to do that too. something I'm going to be experimenting with in 2026 I think.
10. Favorite thing you read this year:
This microfic from @gribbo - the dark urge "Sister" interacting with a baby Orin. oh i love this style. I've laid in bed and whispered "my runny redling" out loud to myself in glee.
"Stumbling Dove" from @ignistigator - this one is nsfw, I enjoyed the character writing so very much. :3 it just felt so good to read. high emotion.
"(To The Moon) The Stars Pleaded: Stay" from @riddlerosehearts - just a really excellent piece; unique style, lovely exploration of the characters within, great stuff all around.
This ask-game response from @the-red-drow. you know how I mentioned above how I want to be better at writing prose-style and active-style together in one piece? :D this is an EXCELLENT example of that!
"Stealing Moments of Comfort" from @burnt-by-marigolds. I just really enjoy when folks take in-game scenes and write out aftermath from their personal characters because it's such an amazing way to see moments from the story through another's eyes. and this was beautifully done!
this miiight be cheating but I have read and reread "OC Overview" for Tav from @elceewunjo this year. maybe it's not a narrative "fic" but it is SO rich a look into such a spectacularly complex character that I can describe it in no other way than getting served the most incredible food. xD so many delicious things to chew on.
11. Favorite event you did this year?
sadly, I don't really do events. x'D they're a big commitment for me and I have so much going on that takes up my time and energy irl that it's hard to join them in a way I can really enjoy without feeling stressed. I might be willing to join one though if a friend hosts. c:
12. Favorite song to listen to while you write or to get you in the writing mood:
I actually write in complete silence. even instrumentals are too much for me while In The Zone haha. that said, if I need to clear my mind in order to start writing, "Intro" by The XX is theee most reliable track for me to do that with. the absence of verbal lyrics keeps me from getting distracted while the subtle wordless vocals helps keep my mind from wandering too much. it's like a meditation track for me in a way.
13. Favorite type of fic to write (crack, fluff, angst, smut, etc)
PLOT. plot plot plot. I like a story. I like a narrative. I like playing with the Toys. idk what the actual fandom term is for that though, I'm sorry. xD
okay I think it’s safe to say that most folks are absent enough at the moment that maybe I’ll wait to try to do ask games; instead I’ll go ahead and mention that I’m planning to post two of my long-planned lore/headcanon/mechanic essays in the near future! :3 I am very excited for both of them.
the first one is a bit more impersonal, similar to my “BG3 Food Logistics” ramblings, where I will detail out how I think it would work to write your party recovering character-specific belongings before the nautiloid crash.
the second is more specific to Jahen, about how I imagine he handles the slow build up of camp supplies, from getting everyone under basic tarps to fend off the weather on day 1, to fully outfitted personal tents by the end of the first month. it’s personal to Jahen because he has very specialized ranger skills that help with those things, but! I do think there will be tidbits there that could be translated to any playthrough and the universal need for shelter. :]
I hope they will be fun reads! ^u^ thanks everybody for sticking around 💛

thank you so much to @elceewunjo for the tag! haha idk how accurate my results are because there were several questions I just. had no idea what to pick lol but:
this result is SO funny I'm not gonna complain XD I don't think I've ever written a bona fide crack fic but maybe I should start.
I'm not totally sure who has or hasn't done this yet but I'm tagging @riddlerosehearts @ignistigator @rivereverie @quinthebard @taras-toe-beans and @tillysketch ! if you've already done it feel free to drop me a link so I can see. ^o^
I sincerely debated on making this post but given that, at least in the northern hemisphere rn, the days are pretty much the shortest they get and a lot of us are dealing with seasonal affective disorder as well as some genuinely hard times around the holidays, I think this sort of reminder could maybe put some minds at ease.
as I was going through and catching up on blogs this evening, I caught sight of some behavior (between two people that were not me) that, to put it lightly, raised some concerns for me. I quietly unfollowed the person whose blog I was browsing and went to my own follower list to do a courtesy softblock, only to find out with some relief that they had already unfollowed me a while ago and have seemingly left the fandom entirely.
when we make our blogs and characters and we form communities around things we enjoy here on the web, we often get to know each other in a way that gives us a sense of camaraderie and I think that paves the way for genuine friendships to form as well. that is genuinely very special and one of my favorite things about internet culture, maybe even particularly fandom culture. I personally have very fond thoughts for many of you and there's a good number I would count as my friends. c; and I hope our bonds will continue to grow as we keep making our fun stories alongside each other (and maybe sometimes together as well).
but the truth is that until you have the chance to converse regularly with people for a long enough period of time, you don't really know anyone on the internet. and sharing a fun space with someone, even being "mutuals" for a while, isn't in itself the basis of a strong relationship. I just want to offer up that if someone makes a demand of you that is unfair, assumes wrongdoing on your part for misunderstandings, or publicly threatens a vague "you" in ways that are meant to make anyone seeing the post afraid of misstepping somehow - even if this person is your mutual - it is okay to ignore that or disengage as needed to protect your peace. including unfollowing/softblocking, or even hardblocking if you need to.
I think it's common for us to want to make friends and want to form strong communities together, and on that basis to feel like there's some common owed emotional labor to that end, but this isn't actually the case if a tried and true friendship isn't there. <3 the truth is that even with the best of intentions, if someone is behaving destructively towards you or in very public ways, kindness is certainly not amiss, but sacrificing your personal boundaries or emotional safety to try to console or reassure someone when the bond isn't strong enough for you to make a real difference is liable to end up with you hurt and the person you might be engaging with just the same burdens as before.
sometimes this comes in extreme forms like someone threatening suicide or self harm, and leaving panicked onlookers in a position to feel as though they must do *something* to stop that train in its tracks. sometimes this comes in the much more benign but still hurtful demand to know why you didn't answer or respond to their post/message in a certain amount of time (surely that means you don't care? and the like.)
I don't think this applies to more general situations where folks are just having a hard time and expressing it, and in that case I think it's wonderful to come together to offer support and listening ears. this post is very specifically about situations wherein someone is either directly or indirectly placing responsibility on you (or the community at large) for something that is either engineered to be hurtful (because the person themself is hurting and they don't know how to ask for help), or is making a demand that would be impossible for friendly acquaintances to fulfill in any truly meaningful way.
please know that you are not letting anyone down or turning away from someone in need if you do not have the sort of relationship with someone that would enable you to genuinely help them. we are all playing toys together and it's wonderful to be able to support each other when times get tough, but sometimes destructive people take advantage of that, even unintentionally. kindness goes a long way, but there is a limit to how much you can help if you don't truly know someone. don't be afraid to compassionately take a step back if someone says something or acts out in ways that alarm or hurt you with no real option to reach out and mend anything.
What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?
Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
answered about beta-reading here~! c:
common things I like to incorporate are in this ask. ^o^
⛔ Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?
I do! in fact I just posted the best scraps from it not long ago. this was a super early fic where I was exploring some post-game stuff around addressing Jahen's chronic health issues. :] the reason I scrapped it is because it involved Astarion coming across Jahen & Halsin hanging out in the woods - specifically because he was following a Reithwin lead regarding some vampiric rituals that might point towards a mechanism to get him another method of sunwalking. but I've since come up with a much more elaborate plan for this that I want to explore instead. Jahen's plot will get worked in some other way. xD
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
I'm writing a Jahen/Wyll snuggling fic set in act 2 that really appeals to my personal tastes in intimacy without going directly to sexual intimacy specifically! c: since Wyll prefers to take things slow as far as the physical relationship goes, but Jahen himself is a really touchy-feely person, this was a wonderful way to have them meet in the middle and really connect with one another by touch, but without getting undressed. the first third of the fic or so involves interactions with characters that aren't Wyll (mostly Shadowheart and Astarion) as a sort of slow build up to finding him, which was fun for me to write and I am proud of the result. ^o^ I am very much looking forward to sharing this one when it's finished.
