I waited and waited and finally decided to update to Windows 10 after 10,000 popups from Microsoft telling me I should. Wow, nice clean look for FileMaker 14…just before it crashed. OK, it had done that before I updated or upgraded. FileMaker used to be quite reliable and trouble free several decades ago but that was before the Internet and all the really cool bells and whistles.

Get(PersistentID) delivers a unique identifier for each computer using FileMaker Pro, according to FileMaker, Inc. and with exceptions of course.

Sounds like a great ID for identifying a user and letting them inside or keeping them out…
