“Oh really,” Klaus needled. But it paused there to allow himself room to glide forward and lower a hand down on the counter beside them. Invading his space, but not yet taking a seat to make it permanent. Intentional.

“Look at your face. You’re just at a neutral scowl. Resting rage. Bottled tiny fury. Like a... like a little juice box full of molten lava.” A painted nail lifted to tap on the wooden bar. 

Tap tap. 

                    IN   A   TURN   OF   events   ,   penelope   is   not   the   only   person   here   for   this   particular   job .     she   can   tell   that   he’s   also   a   hitman   ,   something   in   her   just   knows .     that   ,   and   he’s   got   his   gun   out .     either   ,   he’s   here   for   her   or   he’s   here   for   her   target .     neither   of   which   is   exactly   ideal .     she’s   immediately   on   the   defensive   ,   hand   hovering   over   the   gun   that   is   holstered   on   her   thigh .     bright   blue   eyes   narrow   at   him   ,   lips   turning   down   into   a   frown   as   light   eyebrows   furrow   ,    ❛   what   are   you   doing   here   ?   ❜

         watching him move around the kitchen, she listens to his words as she observes. the ways he expresses himself, speaks of himself reminds her of some of the kids she helps and it makes her heart clench for a moment. a part of her wonders if he thinks she doesn’t believe what he’s told her but...she can tell he’s being honest. what reason would he have to make any of that up? fiddling with her cup, she speaks after a moment realizing what she said may have rubbed him the wrong way.

When everything in you is telling you to sort of....surrender except that one part. That one....   ❞ she looks down knowing where she’s been and how the thought of finally knowing what happened to her child was the only thing that pushed her through many tough days. after a moment, she looks at him and gives a warm smile.  ❝  Would you like something hot to eat? I mean, I know my muffins are great but...I can make you a meal,❞ the look in her eyes shows the humor behind her words but  also the sincerity of the offer.

Five: Silence is golden. Wednesday: Duct tape is silver.

Five: The saying “it is better to beg forgiveness than to ask permission” no longer applies to Wednesday.

Wednesday: Five, I need some advice. Five: You need advice from ME? Wednesday: Yeah, frightening, isn't it?
