“Is that so?” While the rest of her peers were falling over themselves in adoration for their new, young, talented professor, Lillibridge did little to hide her general disdain. Such a commotion at the Blue Lions house undoubtedly brought with it more attention. That Briony’s appointment was so sudden, and at the direction of the Archbishop herself, further intensified their spotlight. By this point, it seemed as though nearly everyone at Garreg Mach has an interest in the former mercenary and the students she led.
Lillibridge was not among them. Her intentions were to use the considerable resources of the Officer’s Academy to continue her research, not to be sent off on faraway missions at the Archbishop’s whim, or accompany a fledgling professor on whichever weekend operations or bonding exercises she deemed appropriate. Frankly, she was considering requesting a transfer to the Black Eagle house simply to get away from the woman.
“Are you demanding my respect?” It had hardly been earned, after all. “How noble.” She said the word as if it were the vilest curse she could imagine. No, Briony was not a noble, as far as she knew, but she bore a Crest, surely inherited naturally, and she had been gifted a position at the Academy far above her expertise in recognition of her famous father.
