ELON BUNYAN AND DONNIE BABE
Paul Bunyan comes from the colon folklore in the USA. He is very well known and his figure is found on many motorway areas, Americans love these road works of art.
Bunyan is a giant with superhuman strength, capable of razing entire forests with an axe. He travels with his faithful blue ox, Babe, and is supposed to have shaped landscapes like the Great Lakes or the Rocky Mountains.
In this watercolor I use the emblematic figure of Paul Bunyan, transformed into Elon Bunyan accompanied by his ox Donnie Babe (Trump) clearing the American system. This violence of acts is symbolized by the mouth of Hell from which they come out. Donnie Babe holds under his paw a wheel of misfortune, a shooting card. On the tarot card she crushes said misfortune, a devil, here she crushes fortune, the USA, the bald-headed eagle.
Above them a Saint inspired by Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, who officiated when Donald Trump took office. The text is taken from his sermon: Let make one final plea (...) in the name of God I ask you mercy on the people of our country who are now afraid
Let's make one last call (...) in the name of God I ask you for mercy towards the people of our country who are now afraid.
