fifthdestiny:
The young woman couldn’t help but stare at the person who had just spoken up- it was hard not to when he had gas mask planted firmly on his face. And sure she was in the rougher part of town but well…
“Ah- No, I’m fine” reaching into her shopping bag she was loading up the side compartments of her bike in order to get the things home, reorganizing to get everything to fit. “Thank you, but I think I’ll be fine” a pause, her curiosity getting the better of her as she cleared her throat “If I may ask… Why the gas mask? If it’s personal, that’s fine.”
As much as Clear genuinely wanted to help the young boy, he knew better than to insist on doing so. Instead, he just watched him load up the compartments of the bike-- waiting for the other male to eventually ask for his help just in case. He remained silent for a fleeting moment but then his grip on the handle of his opened transparent umbrella somewhat twitched when the boy questioned his gas mask.
"My gas mask?" He pointed at his mask, nearly forgetting that he was actually sporting it today. "Oh! Well, I just woke up this morning and figured I should wear it today." Intentionally not explaining why, he steered the topic. "I don't think I've seen you around here before." Which was odd given how he's nearly friends with everyone in the city. "Are you new here?"
