Revan’s connection to the Force had been nearly severed. Crushed, certainly; reduced. It had taken him some time to notice, in all honesty. He’d felt it; it was as though a part of him had died. But that, in itself, was not at all a new sensation. At the time, Revan had pushed the feeling aside, and he hadn’t bothered to identify it until later. Originally, he’d assumed it was not unlike re-learning his own identity, except something different. Something he hadn’t wanted to pay attention to - painful itch he’d steadfastly refused to scratch. Perhaps, subconsciously, he had already known, but hadn’t wanted to.
When he’d finally forced himself to scratch, it’d… taken a while to recover.
Now, a few hours later, he was back on the streets. His connection wasn’t gone, after all, only diminished. He could live with that, for the time being. There was nothing he could do yet, except try to find others.
He hadn’t been able to get very far. His ability to sense with the force had been reduced to nearly nothing at all. He was quite certain he could fling objects with raw determination better than he could actually feel the presence of other beings. But eventually, he’d sensed something passing by, not too far away.
It was something like a Force Sensitive being,, and yet not quite the same. He followed after the strange feeling, barely able to keep his connection to the Force open without dedicated concentration, until he could see the person he felt. Once he’d found her, he dropped his connection entirely and followed her the good old-fashioned way. She wasn’t exactly making it difficult, and he kept his distance. This wasn’t his forte by any stretch of the imagination, but they were on a crowded street, and there were plenty of others going in the same direction.
Eventually, however, the girl turned down some narrow side street. Not an alley by any stretch of the imagination, and another busy street was visible a few blocks down, But the street in between was nearly deserted, the buildings equally so. Revan turned the corner after her, keeping a fair distance between them. He walked upright, in plain sight, making no effort to hide. Their footsteps echoed throughout the street, and if she had any kind of ability to sense other people at all, she would notice him without a problem.
He wasn’t acting suspicious - but he didn’t look friendly, either. If she hadn’t already realized he was following her, it wouldn’t take much longer. And that was fine by Revan.
