Reno was grateful when the other pulled out a second mug for him. He grabbed it and fiddled with it while he waited for the coffee to brew. He hoped that he’d be more level headed when he had some caffeine in him. Once it was ready, he poured his cup after Marluxia had poured his. He was glad that the other let him finish what he was saying before chiming in. He listened to what the other had to say, seriously taking in his advice.
He blushed and chuckled at the compliment as he drank a bit out of his mug. “Thanks.” He told him as the other finished up. “I always knew you were still somewhat attracted to me.” He teased him. Reno had long gotten over how things had ended between them. “Yeah, I know I keep fucking up. How do I fix things?” He asked, wanting to know. “Yeah, but when I got home Axel gave me hell to pay.” He chuckled bitterly. “Love him? I don’t even know what love is, Marluxia. I just said it in the spur of the moment.”
Marluxia rolled his eyes at the teasing, not gracing it with a response, neither a denial
nor an agreement. Their relationship, if you could call it that, had long
since ended, and while he wasn’t always sure why Reno trusted his
advice, Marluxia was more than happy to offer it. His hand tightened
around the handle of his mug, and he took a steadying breath. Never,
ever, had Axel’s abuse sat well with Marluxia, and knowing that it was
still happening infuriated him just as much now as it always had.
He leaned on the counter, angling himself toward Reno and watching the other with
narrowed eyes. “Impulsive as you’ve always been, I see,” Marluxia
pointed out. “Okay, so because you’re clueless, I’ll try a simpler question.
Don’t think too hard about it. Just... instinctive answer. Why did you tell
         him you love him?”
