Kion’s act like using the Roar in anger against others was a very big mistake. And mistakes sometimes can cause people-influencing events, this time it made Scar alive again causing that the Pride Lands got in serious danger.
Looking at his son, he was pondering about that maybe these mistakes (when Kion had let the jackals in or when ruined the Savannah Summit last time and this) had proved Simba’s hypothesis that Kion probably was still too young for this position. Although, it would have been selfish to presume that all leaders must be perfect -- because nobody could be. Simba, too, had made wrong decisions and perhaps his biggest mistake was when he believed Scar’s lie about his father’s death as cub which had a huge influence on not only him but the whole kingdom as well.
Important fact that Kion was inclined to admit his mistake without scapegoating, with honest heart -- at least this was what Simba saw in his son’s eyes.
“This is a lesson for you, Kion. The Roar is not an ordinary thing that can be used anywhere and anytime, exclusively in special situations. As you can see, it has a great power and you still need to learn how to control it. In spite of all these, I still have my faith in you and I believe that we can find a solution.”
