A new generation of Parisian gangsters are claiming stylish territories all through out Paris and doing so in a manner that is as nice as Casper the Friendly Ghost. Anne Masanet (marketing strategist) and Karoline Bothorel-Bolzinger (design director) are the head honchos of the clique, Very French Gangsters, a brand of eye wear –both prescription and fashion specs and sunnies– for kids from the age of 3 through 10 years old....

The new “new” within any business is marketing yourself wisely– more wildly than you ever imagined before. Building an empire is a progressive route that dozens are attempting while only a few are actualizing it– tapping into a variety of sectors and limitless visions intermingled with savvy know-how.  Scandinavian native, Rikke Korff, is a woman who sets a vivid example of this blueprint....

TOKYO FASHION WEEK- Autumn/ Winter ’12 showed with over thirty labels, some known and some under-the-radar.  Having sorted through the long list of talented designers and tempting invites, we have narrowed down who to watch out for. While all the participants are impressive in their own different ways, the following 7 labels we regard as truly art driven and uniquely forward....

MM6- Another vision of Margiela’s take on femininity is the MM6 collection- a daily contemporary approach to fashion where prints and soft tones play a key role.  The garments draw their inspiration from and lend themselves to the more relaxed moments of life, often with a twist of humor....

COSMIC THREAD- In a land called Denver, radiant energy bursts out of every mountain, lake, and waterfall.  This energy is the surrounding backdrop for sisters, Taryn and Megan Slawson, who are both young artists with a love for shapes.  They studied Apparel Design and Production at Colorado State University and there after decided to make magic a la galactic hardware adornment....

PENDLETON-  Who doesn’t love an American brand success story?  Over a century ago, Fannie Kay (a woolen mill operations manager) and C.P. Bishop (a retail merchant), began a life together in marriage and business.  The merchandising and manufacturing expertise between the two would be the catalyst for what was to become the Pendleton Woolen Mills.... 

SPELLBOUND SKY STUDIO-Sacred geometry and supernatural themes have made their way into collections for the last few seasons.  More recently, laws of attraction and quantum physics have placed emphasis on this idea of fashion beyond just the garment and look, transforming into a spiritual state of positive reinforcement for the mind and soul....

FORNARINA-“Made in Italy” is a statement that is usually followed with an outstanding pair of shoes– it’s not ironic that the country’s topographical shape resembles a boot.  The footwear industry can be a tough task in making sure not get lost in the over saturation that happens.  A smart business move is to take a step back to examine the market and restructure the necessary....
