Hi Puts! I hope you're well! I wanted to know your opinion about the Gaika song. I saw one of your most recent posts on this song, and I wanted to know what you think of it, because I just LOVE this song!! Especially the parts where Keiko sings with his wonderful and so passionate contralto💕 Even though it is a little imperceptible, and there are also the parts that I can hear the cello (I think it’s the sound of the cello, I don’t quite know how to identify), that enchants me!
Hi there lovely anon!
For everyone who is curious, anon is referring to THIS POST here. Apparently Yuki Kajiura’s younger sister does not really like the song “Gaika” which is one of the original songs included in the FictionJunction “elemental” album.
It honestly baffles me how someone can dislike the song, I am assuming it’s too “dark” for her but still, it’s crazy how she can think that. I guess it’s her loss, she is really missing out on something wonderful!
Anyways, “Gaika” is BY FAR the most epic and outstanding piece in “elemental”. In my opinion it’s actually THE BEST original song Yuki Kajiura has written for her solo project “FictionJunction”, it’s a true masterpiece.
The vibe is dark, impending and chilling, the bass and even the cello provide such a powerful constant throughout the entire track. There is no real climax I would say since the song is rather consistent and repetitive in its structure but the beat certainly gets your heart-rate up.
Wakana and Keiko’s vocals are haunting (especially Keiko’s lower harmonies in the live version). This is one of the songs I would recommend to people if I wanted them to experience (and fall madly in love with) the perfection that is WaKei-Harmony.
