            Mikey was always the family’s feelings guy. he was always the one there, ready and waiting with some kind words, encouragement, advice, or comfort. but... he never allowed himself to show his own feelings. not if he could help it. there was a lot that went on in his head that his family had yet to learn about and Mikey planned to keep it that was for as long as possible.             of course, even he could slip up.             now was one of those times. he hadn’t been able to get a handle on his emotions this time around and had gotten caught. fortunately, it was by Donatello, but that still didn’t make it any easier.

            it must’ve been the look on his face because Mikey hadn’t said a word, but Donnie still seemed to be able to tell that something was bothering him. the warm and familiar weight of his older brother’s hand on his shoulder was somewhat comforting and it eased a tiny bit of the stress he was feeling, allowing him a moment to exhale a breath he hadn’t been aware he’d been holding.

            good thing Mikey had mastered the ability to look and act casual no matter what.
