Not at all! (Also, hi, wow it has been a while!)

The first character I first fell in love with - I watched AC before I played FFVII, so it was most likely Sephiroth. I still really like him, but now  I appreciate his character (and flaws!) rather than just the silver haired bishieness. And cat eyes.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Aeris. I'm ashamed to say when I started in the FFVII fandom I had a fair bit of internalized anti women feelings - I was maybe 13/14? Which doesn't excuse it at all, I know, but I was very much the jealous of ladies getting in the way of my ships fangirl. I...am glad I've changed. Aeris is now a heroine of mine. And I ship her in my multiships.

Maybe also Lucrecia? Although I don't love her as such, I admire her storyline and her character building. 

The character everyone else loves that I don’t - uh, hmm. Genesis. He just comes of as one dimensionally cruel to me. 

The character I love that everyone else hates - Aeris and Tifa my precious-es. Maybe not many people in the section of FFVII fandom I patronize now, but back in the ship wars on live journal. 

The character I used to love but don’t any longer - N/A I still love most of them.

The character I would totally smooch - ZACK. Of all the FFVII characters who I'm attracted to, he really deserves so much love and attention. His storyline crushed me.

The character I’d want to be like - Zack, again. His emotional resilience, holding steadfastly to his dreams, his optimism in spite of every single trial he faced. Yeah, Zack.

The character I’d slap - Hojo. Or Gast, for not finding a way to spirit Seph away when he was a child.

A pairing that I love - AHAHAH ...Aeris x Cloud x Zack. also Seph x Cloud x Zack.
