I’m in that place again where I’m seriously considering shaving my head, or at least shaving the sides, to alleviate my seborrhea. It just seems like no matter how hard I work at trying to get this fucking condition under control, it not only fails to get any better but every now and again manages to get worse. At the moment, I’m flaking so severely I have dandruff constantly (and the embarrassment that comes with it since people assume you have it from not cleaning your hair) and the scaling is so intense that I have several open wounds from trying to get rid of it. And of course the wounds scab over, but how can the scabs heal when I’m constantly going to war with my scalp trying to get the seborrhea under control? They end up getting pulled off either from washing my hair over and over or from when I’m scraping the scales off in an effort to (hopefully) prevent some dandruff. It’s just this never-ending cycle that never seems to get any better and I feel ready to just throw my hands up and surrender. i don’t WANT to cut all my hair off but at this point it may be my only shot to reign this shit in.
And on that note, I’m off to wash my hair again because I was just scraping off scales and found blood on my hand again.
