Do you have any idea what's up with this cat's white spotting? I honestly feel like it's giving tortoiseshell above all else, but with the lack of red, wonder if the gene failed to show
This cat is obviously the leader of their clan- /j
I’m not getting a tortoiseshell feel from this, the patches are too broad and not mottled. This is certainly a unique white spotting pattern but not to the extent that I would suspect anything strange is going on genetically.

She’s a black spotted tortoiseshell tabby Domestic Shorthair, she just happens to display more red than black (“brown”) tabby colorations.
It’s certainly more common to see the colors distributed with less red but sometimes the opposite happens, it’s all up to chance. Primarily red torties are striking.

It’s a little difficult to tell off of the one photo but I’m pretty sure she’s a black silver tortoiseshell tabby bicolor similar to these cats or these cats or cats like this.
People on Reddit are talking about the interesting coat on this girl. Current theories are mostly orange tortoiseshell or chimera. What do you think?

Woah, what a unique looking girl-!
I’m inclined to go with the “mostly orange tortoiseshell” side of things, so genetically a black tortoiseshell that just happened to wind up with more red displaying than black.
It’s not impossible that she’s a chimera but it’s also not impossible that any cat which walks past my window is a chimera, but this pattern is plausible within the realm of standard genetics so I don’t see any indication to go chasing after that diagnosis.
