Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets?
Yes and no to the first part of that.
She’s not afraid of death itself per se, just of the process of dying. Her brushes with death have been excruciating and terrifying, but she very much likes the idea of an eternal nonexistence free of pain and suffering.
As for regrets, I’m pretty sure most people have those. If she were to die right now, she’d regret not figuring herself out. Which parts of her past are real and which Saunde just put in her head and the like. Whether or not Saunde is her “real” father and what makes a father “real” (as her biological one died when she was young). What is the measure of a monster. All sorts of stuff.
