Xavier frowned, the lines in his forward doubling as he scrolled through the text messages he’d missed in the past few hours. Too distracted by pre-maturely decorating the house for Christmas, he hadn’t given his phone a second look until right that minute. “Do you think our friends will ever actually believe that you and I are serious? Or will we have to spend our entire lives responding to invitations out like this one.” He shoved the phone toward Sabina, the agitation he felt creeping into his dark eyes. “It’s been long enough now that they should realize it isn’t a joke.”  @feverish-desires​

Maddox stood in the doorway, quite silent, and watched his wife. The dim candle light cast a hazy, warm orange glow across the room. He could see the flames dancing in the reflection of the bath that had been drawn for Ilara. He didn’t want to break the silence. He was more than slightly afraid that once he did, there would be an air of tension between them. Although he was trying very hard, much harder than he had after the birth of their first daughter, to be attentive and show that he was as in love with her as the day they married, he was afraid he was failing once again. It was true that the birth of a second daughter had been disappointing, but it hadn’t angered him. He was grateful that they had two healthy children, even if they weren’t the male heir he so desired.

With war brewing on the outermost borders of their Kingdom, Maddox would soon be leaving the protective walls of the castle to fight off their enemies. Leaving now, when all he wanted to do was stay but Ilara’s side, felt wrong. But he had no real choice. “I could watch you for hours.” His voice was hoarse after spending most of the day speaking with his military advisers. “I’m going to miss you very much, as well as our daughters. Will you tell them how much I care for them while I’m away?” // @feverish-desires​

Maddox clutched at his wife’s arm, a calm expression on his face as he leaned in to whisper in her ear. Although it was well into the night, the grand party they were hosting was only just coming to an end. Their guests were still mingling in every part of the castle, but Maddox was tired of making nice with everyone. “The sight of you in that dress has been driving me mad all night,” he husked, his hot breath dancing on her skin. “I’ll give you a full minute head start, but when I catch you, I must have you. I don’t care if all of our guests are watching.” // @feverish-desires​

Rage burned through Maddox’s chest as he pushed open the door to Ilara’s chambers. His most trusted advisor was hot on his heels, speaking nonsense in a semi-hushed tone that suggested he thought Maddox was overreacting. 

But King’s didn’t overreact. They were the law, the order, the example for all citizens. 

“My Queen,” Maddox greeted, his loud steps fell over one another, his feet moving so quickly that he found himself at Ilara’s side in seconds. He swept her into his arms and kissed her none too gently - the sort of kiss that most would find improper to place upon one’s wife when another man was present. “My advisor believes it wise for me to take another woman. He believes you won’t bear me a son - that our beautiful daughter is all you have to offer.” Maddox turned his narrow eyes to the man standing in the doorway, his mouth agape.

“We shouldn’t get distracted.” Deep hued lights dimly lit the room - or rather, the basement. Plenty of targets could be found at nightclubs, but this one....this one was special. Caius could feel the music pounding in his veins, and it made him feel like nothing else mattered. He tugged Roxy’s hips closer to him, pressing his groin against her round ass as he swayed to the music. “You never know who might try and get in our way....” @feverish-desires

Nothing had ever been out of Desmond’s control before. With a wealthy father who had more money than he knew what to do with, there was no problem Desmond couldn’t solve. Even when it became clear that staying on earth was no longer an option, his family’s money saved the day. But wealth, influence, and power couldn’t save Desmond from his fate now. The deep expanse of space didn’t care whether he was Desmond Price, heir to the Price fortune. To the universe, he was just another soul to swallow.

“Naughty, naughty,” Blaze simpered, his eyes following Roxy’s every move. He’d lost count of how many days they had been hiding in this star system, waiting for the law enforcement goons to get distracted by some other criminals. Their last heist had been a mess - it was a miracle they had made it out without being arrested. At first, Blaze had been so distracted by their near capture that he couldn’t think of anything but their next plan. But...a few days had passed since then, and there was only so much planning Blaze could do before he got bored. 

“Didn’t I tell you to ask permission before breaking out the alcohol? I seem to remember a conversation about you being a bit of a lush and me getting tired of finding my liquor bottles empty.” @feverish-desires
