Coachella is a massive zeitgeist-chasing music festival in Indio, California. The biggest musical celebration in the world, the festival has to be on any music fan's bucket list.Annually curating a lineup of the biggest and most buzz-worthy artists across all popular genres, Coachella has hosted some of the most historic sets in festival history, with the likes of Beyoncé, Daft Punk, Prince, Radiohead, and Bob Dylan playing the main stage over its two decade-long history.Taking place over two weekends in the middle of April, the opening of the festival gates acts as the official un-official start to the festival season.

Coachella 2020 datesHere are the official Coachella Music and Arts Festival dates which were released on June 10, 2019 by the promoter of the event, Goldenvoice:

Weekend 1: April 10 – 12, 2020

Weekend 2: April 17 – 19, 2020 

Coachella will be followed once again by the Stagecoach Country Music Festival at the Empire Polo Club on April 24 – 26 – though details on that event are normally announced in the fall.

How Much are tickets to Coachella?

General admission passes will run you $399 plus fees.  VIP wristbands are $929 plus fees. There are also Camping and travel packages, VIP parking, and shuttle passes will also be available for purchase on the Coachella website.  Tickets go on sale Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11 am.Typically, tickets for Coachella go on sale two times – with the first sale being the only chance to pay for wristbands using monthly payments. Then another round of tickets will go on sale following the lineup announcement in January – where a payment plan is not

 offered.Coachella 2020 Lineup:

Well, we don’t know that yet.  The official lineup normally drops in early January.Update 11/1: Well, well, well…it certainly looks like Rage Against the Machine will be a headliner. 

Coachella Location

The three-day festival takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio – which is about 30 minutes east of Palm Springs.

For those who drive in from Los Angeles or Orange County, expect to see some traffic coming in on Thursday and Friday, especially through Cabazon and the Banning and Beamont areas along the 10 Freeway.  There is also always terrible traffic Monday morning following the festival.
