i honestly feel so disgusted w/ arasha and everyone who's been involved in fesspool, especially after this week's episode.
i know its a similar format to reddit stories, just with audio call-ins instead of written posts, but i think the biggest difference is that in reddit stories there's usually the very necessary trigger warnings for shit like animal abuse, stalking, any kind of assault, etc. they probably miss some trigger warnings for sure, but usually theres at least a couple necessary ones in recent times.
fesspool is so loosey goosey with the warnings and its so disheartening, but even beyond that (and i havent watched a full video except for the tommy guest one) the comments i read on each video make me so uncomfortable. either with arasha's takes (she's had some particularly bad ones so far, including ableism and also saying we're 'back' from covid??) or with the untagged content that should definitely be tagged (in particular i couldn't finish the jacksepticeye video because i read comments saying the last story should have had a COCSA warning which is a big uhhh trauma hit for me so i didn't trust myself to be okay watching it, but again ! there was no warning for it ! so if i hadn't read the comments, like, i would've had a breakdown probably)
all this to say i know that i am in charge of the media i consume, but i was HOPING that fesspool would, like... crawl out of the gutter, so to speak. it's clear to me it won't, so i won't be engaging with it further, but its also really disheartening to me to see not many people talking about how disturbing the confessions are but especially the reactions to the confessions from arasha and the guests. it's disgusting to me and i dunno. i'm really sad to not see more people speaking out about it. then again, i only use tumblr, so maybe on twitter or bsky people are talking? but i wouldnt know :[
i know you had an ask abt fesspool before and you said you weren't gonna be watching it, so this isnt really for conversation and more so for like. expressing my disappointment in the whole circumstance. nothing to be done except step back, for me, but thank you for having a space to say this kind of stuff ! im sorry you have such a hard time with other people and the asks they send you. i wish people could be kinder.
It's really a shame that, as you said, they're playing pretty loosey goosey with all of this. I still haven't watched it but everything I've heard about it has been abysmal. Don't spring dark subjects like that on your viewers unless you put out a blanket statement that you won't be giving individual trigger warnings and that the show itself comes with a trigger warning for dark topics. It's really, really not that big of an ask to give people that much of a head's up. Especially when the topic of assault of any kind is going to be a common topic of discussion. I would hate to have any of my viewers have some sort of trauma response because I couldn't be bothered to give a content warning. I would feel fucking awful if it were me.

I used to be a big fan of Arasha. I still think she's very talented and very funny. But since fesspool started I've lost a lot of my fandom for her. I really think it's a bad show, designed simply for shock and awe and no substance to it. And the confessions they choose to have Arasha and her guests listen to are chaotic at best, disturbing at worst. I still can't believe they used the confession where someone literally committed ARSON and could've killed someone, then used that clip in their ig page to promote the show. And so many animal abuse confessions. I honestly think she's hurt her career by doing this show. And a majority of her responses to the confessions have really made me lose respect for her.

Just watched fesspool with Spencer and arasha and I have to be honest, this duo is so underrated!! Not only do they have great chemistry but I just love their banter so much it’s crazyyyyy

So I've been trying to support Arasha's podcast, right.
Well, how come she keeps inviting problematic people after problematic people, without any background checks apparently? Last week, she had a major Zionist come over to her show, now this week we're getting Gina Darling, who's getting the side-eye for watching JK Rowling content (Harry Potter) despite her being a major transphobe.
Not to mention, the premise of the show itself has been iffy overall. Major YIKES for Arasha and everyone involved in Fesspool.
I'm really sad that I truly have not heard one good thing about this podcast because I know Arasha was so, so excited about it. She has so much time to course correct it but every week that it continues on it seems to tend to get worse in some way rather than better.
The worst is still platforming a huge Zionist for me and letting stories that are severely upsetting go through without warning. You could do literally anything but that and yet that's what you chose to do.
Speaking of big time rush, there is a post on twitter by Matt Bernstein about James Maslow being one of the attendees at the racist & islamaphobic anti-zohran rally. That post has about 4.8 million views now so there’s no way people aren’t aware of how outright disgusting he is. Any person interacting or associating with btr at this point should be called out & I hope smosh stays away from this mess. I know Arasha frequently mentions them a lot but girl read the room & if she had any values then she should avoid them at all cost or atleast not platform them. That whole Stephen glickman guest star thing on fesspool left a sour taste tbh
P.S. it’s not just James. Carlos & his wife are maga . Logan I believe has some skeletons in his closet (some predatory allegations??) and Kendall who we all thought was somewhat ok recently endorsed a republican. At this point just throw the whole band away lol & any one who is still a fan of them for nostalgic reasons need to re-evaluate everything. Also I peeked into their Reddit & turns out they’ve had issues about cancelling tour dates without notice, violating Covid restrictions, & overall exploiting their fans for money all because of nostalgia lol they are a mess. looks like the Nickelodeon money ran out lmao

Before the first show aired, I followed Fesspool to support Arasha. After seeing what kind of stories they were airing, I immediately unfollowed. And seeing that it apparently went getting any better (and might actually be worse in some cases) I’m considering unfollowing Arasha altogether.
You're not the only one that's felt that way regarding Arasha and fesspool. It's been a real disappointment to see how this has all gone. While I don't want Arasha to feel bad about herself, I think it would do her some good to take the constructive criticism in mind if this many people are uncomfortable with it. Alienating your potential viewers is never a good idea.
