OnS Theories (14S). First Theory -Â Rigr Stafford, one step closer to be a creator
Hello everyone, the theories are boiling and honestly, I believe once the official translation comes in, more theories will rise, but for now, let’s take a break before the special theory comes up, therefore, let’s begin!
Despite the release of the latest chapter in Japan; let’s talk about Rigr Stafford.
In the World Resurrection LNs, Rigr blames the First for what he became, he has a small conversation with Guren about how the First Progenitor is playing God changing and deciding which religions and empires would rise and fall but, as the story goes on, we finally were able to spot Rigr playing a role in the current story; he is portrayed as a vampire with a grudge against the First Progenitor, a vampire that aims to show the First that he is worthy.
But, why do I state he’s one step closer to be a creator?
First of all, Rigr created the Thousand Nights commonly known as the Hyakuya Sect once he divided the Ichinose Family from the Hiragi Family, which is stated in the Resurrection LN Vol. 2:
“The Sire has no interest in the human heart. What you think about, how you live, who you love or hate--it’s all meaningless to him.”
Perhpas it’s because he’s too complete, too inmaculate. Or perhaps it’s just that he’s lived too long. But he disdains the human race.”
“It was no different when the Ichinose Clan was cast out for the sake of love. He let it happen. It didn’t strike him as important. He had never considered how much power there could be in love, or jealously, or anger. And as a result the Ichinoses were expelled. This split made way for the rise of the Thousand Nights.”
Secondly, despite Rigr being the one who created the Hyakuya Sect he stated this in the LNs:
“Although I was the one who created the Thousand Nights, they never seemed to do what I wanted them to. They began conducting their own research without my knowledge. Research in fact, that seemed to play right into the Sire’s hands. It almost seemed like my creation of the Brotherhood had been part of his plan all along. What was I to do? The most I tried to catch up with him, the further ahead he seemed to get. I felt like Sun Wukong trapped atop Buddah’s palm”
As Rigr told that to Guren about how the First seemed to play the role of God, he also shared small hints of his creations such as what exactly the Hyakuya Sect focused on, creating a strong Seraph of the End along other experiments that seemed useful for Rigr.
But then, why did he state everything went according to the First?
The First himself’s been focused on having no one interfering on his path, the First is very aware that Rigr is trying his best to outsmart him but, for the First, that’s just a game he enjoys.
But then, was Mika a part of the First’s plans?
As many might have seen within fan translations about the recent spoilers, it has somehow created doubts but I have to say, thanks to @sonali6661, we spoke about something related to Mika about this, and we concluded that Mika is in part, something Rigr aimed to get and experimented upon,
Furthermore, why do I state Mika isn’t a part of the First’s plans?
If many might recall, Mika’s life has been filled with tragedy, destiny itself is trying to erase his existance but someone out there manages to put him or pull him towards other direction; what do I mean?
Mika himself is a key element that isn’t helpful for the First, instead the latter, he’s someone who will actually interfer with the First’s plans. Hence why Mika ends up in the most terrible situations within the story.
Furthermore, in the Resurrection LNs, in the Second Volume; Guren was tasked to retrieve and bring alive Yuichiro Hyakuya and Mikaela Hyakuya due to them being important test subjects for Rigr Stafford.
Of course, as everyone might recall, Mika never was able to make it alive as a human since Ferid Bathory pretty much interfered with Rigr’s plans and ended up turning Mikaela into a vampire. Furthermore, with the latest chapters, Mikaela ended up becoming a demon, which in fact, it wasn’t something Rigr planned right away, he wanted Mika to be away from Yu but as everyone saw, things went south again and Mika ended up getting turned into a demon.
But now, if Rigr’s goal for Mika was to be his ace or key element, what makes him someone close to be a creator?
Correct. Despite his plans being twisted by fate, somehow, the fact that Mikaela is now a demon, holds one of the key elements to defeat de First; in a way, Mika’s tranformation isn’t something to destroy Rigr’s and Guren’s hopes to destroy the first, but instead the latter, giving away the awakening of someone capable to stand against it.
Such being is likely “Michael”. (In another theory, I’ll talk about this special event along a special theory I kept for a while)
Let me know what you think!!
