Was he saying something?
You son-of-a-bitch.
hey its been a while since i watched winter soldier so i just had some questions about the season finale. they said that dottie is ida? whats that significance? i dont remember who idea is... also you wrote some stuff about the brainwashing but i dont really remember enough to understand its origin? how will the doctor/evil scientist (damn what his name) be significant in the jail cell? maybe these are things that we're supposed to find out but i maybe theyre things everyone knows already
No problem! I hope you don't mind me publishing, just in case any of my other followers have the same questions :)
The "Ida" remark was a joke. Howard Stark is a huge floozy and couldn't remember the name of the woman (Dottie) who he spent time with 6 months prior. Dottie kept punching him for not remembering, and he finally did at the end. (Her cover name was Ida.)
The man in the cell with the Russian psychologist, Fenhoff, is Arnim Zola. You will remember him from both Captain America movies. He is a horrible man who supposedly came up with the brainwashing that was used on Bucky. My meta that you reference speculates that if Fenhoff helped Zola, then the brainwashed people would imagine happy things while carrying out the bad things they did
The brainwashing is not only used on Bucky in Captain America 2, but also in Agents of SHIELD, so knowing how it started is a really big deal! (And also heartbreaking.)
I hope that answers your questions and helps you! Let me know if you have more :)
