1. What does your OC do for fun?

Oh my. Fena’dea is a very active lady so...she spars, she climbs trees, she runs, and she enjoys a good chase through the forest! 

2. What is the thing they value the most?

Keeping those she loves safe. She’d give up everything she has - including her life - if it means keeping Velahari or her parents or someone in the clan safe from harm.

Who’s the first to wake up in the morning: Abelas, undoubtedly.

Who’s the one to make breakfast: Also Abelas. Fena’dea has learned rather well she is not a good cook.

Who’s the one to serve the other breakfast in bed: Fena’dea, actually. She’ll shoo Abelas out of the kitchen even after he’s cooked everything just to bring it to him :3

Who would suggest a quickie in the morning before work: HA! Is this even a question? Fena’dea~

Who suggests they both ditch work to lay around all day: Also Fena’dea, most likely after the quickie she coerced Abelas into ;3

Who chooses the movies: It’s a joint decision, really. They’ll usually both pick one to show the other.

Who initiates kissing during the movies, thus distracting the other from the movie all together: Ooooh. Fena’dea, most likely!

Who orders lunch: Fena’dea, though with some input from Abelas.

Who steals food from the other’s plate without asking: Fena’dea. *nodnod*

Who curls up next to the other and falls asleep due to a full tummy: Fena’dea. Poor baby :( Abelas warned her not to have that second helping of fries...

Who distracts the other from trying to work at home: Neither, actually. Their jobs are relatively demanding, and neither want to intrude when the other is doing something important.

Who asks to go get ice cream like a five year old: Fena’dea, though Abelas never says no - so what does that say? ;D

Who takes pictures of their partner eating ice cream: Fena’dea. She’ll edit them with sparkles and badly-drawn mustaches later.

Who makes a sexual joke about the dripping ice cream on their partner’s face: Would you believe Abelas? Such innuendo or jokes throw off Fena’dea entirely, and he does it just to get a rise from her.

Who cooks dinner: Abelas, though Fena’dea attempts to help.

Who cleans up the kitchen afterwards: Fena’dea! She says it’s only fair since Abelas does the cooking.

Who stays up until 2 reading: Abelas.

Who stares at their partner while their sleeping: Fena’dea. As silly as she can be sometimes, she enjoys the quiet at night.

Ooooooh boy. For the most part, they’re not very judgmental about what the other does - Velahari finds Fena’dea’s wit amusing, and Fena’dea admires Velahari’s quiet resolve. 

I’d say what really, really irritated Velahari was Fena’dea jumping into the Well of Sorrows without even consulting her - let’s be real, though. Morrigan was too busy arguing with Velahari for either of them to notice before it was too late.

After the fact, Velahari and Fena’dea have a go at it. Fena’dea would do absolutely anything to keep Velahari safe, so for her it wasn’t a choice. Velahari, while appreciating Fena’dea’s instinct to act on her behalf, is at first very, very frustrated about it. 

I doubt it’s something Velahari will ever really get over, but Fena’dea is unrepentant about it.

Their views on otherwise contentious issues are, for the most part, the same - mages, humans, conflict, etc. If boiled down to something not solely focused on the Well of Sorrows, it’s Fena’dea’s impulsive run into danger without considering consequences.

:3 The first part of this was somewhat addressed when I posted about their parents and the past.

Basically, after Velahari’s parents died, Fena’dea became her surrogate older sister, and Fena’dea’s mother Sehris looked out for her as well. Even before all that tragedy, Velahari was quiet and tended to watch more than participate, and the first conversation she probably had with Fena’dea was when one of the older hunters, training the younger generation, had Fena’dea sit out for having an argument with another of the young hunters (something stupid and silly about daggers being better than bows).

Velahari had loooots of questions, and Fena’dea took them all in stride - even managed to make her laugh and smile, and that’s when it really first started. Later, Fena’dea was even more attentive, more protective, and Velahari appreciates it <3 Uhm...she also used to help lull a young Velahari to sleep with quiet Dalish lullabies - Fena’dea’s singing skills are kept under-wraps for the most part, though. 

Despite Fena’dea being older, she was the one always getting into trouble and causing mischief; Velahari always seemed the more mature of the two, and they were a good balance on the other.

That protective streak in Fena’dea’s only intensified since the Inquisition began. She was terrified and guilt-ridden when she first saw Velahari, unconscious and branded with the Anchor, and I don’t know that she ever would have recovered if Velahari hadn’t woken up. 

Fena’dea really, really dislikes being left behind on missions, but she will defer to Velahari a bit sullenly when she insists. The first few days she’ll sulk and be generally disagreeable - if anyone can find her - but then she reappears. She’s no good at diplomacy, so she tends to spend most of her time sparring in the courtyard or in the tavern with Bull or Sera if either are around.

XDDD Okay. Though, I don’t usually treat Fena’dea as my Inquisitor, I’ll go ahead and answer ;3

5. Does your Inquisitor recruit the mages or Templars? (did they conscript or ally with the mages / did the rebuild or dissolve the Templar order?)

Growing up Dalish, Fena’dea never really learned to like templars all that much. So, it makes sense that she’d recruit the mages at Redcliffe, and she’d never disrespect them so by conscripting them. Mages are powerful and important, and so long as they help close the Breach, that’s all Fena’dea really cares - not that she’d turn a blind eye to indiscriminate killing or something. 

12. Does your Inquisitor exile the Grey Wardens or recruit them?

More than anything, Fena’dea wants to bring order back at Adamant, and once the Wardens have regained themselves, she’s willing to let them try to redeem their past transgressions. She isn’t as lenient as Velahari would be, though - if the Wardens fuck up again, she isn’t going to tolerate it.

♥ - What does ‘love’ mean to her?

It’s an incredibly complicated concept Fena’dea doesn’t really dwell on very much. Before Abelas, she took her pleasures where she could find them without attaching herself, but after him…well, it took a while for them to admit any sort of feelings for the other - their relationship was more centered on the vir’abelasan and a physical aspect at first. 

Now that she has a better handle on the feeling, she couldn’t adequately ascribe words to the meaning. It’s warm and soft, but still somehow tough and sturdy, and she sees it whenever she looks into his eyes.

♠ - What is she afraid of?

Failure. She tries so hard to keep everyone she loves safe by trying to take all the risks herself, and Fena’dea is genuinely afraid of being unable to do so anymore and having to live with the knowledge that she failed someone and could have stopped their death.

♦ - What is one thing about them that they are most proud of?

That she’s managed to actually keep Velahari safe after all the shit that’s happened in Inquisition. At first, it was just an instinct to go with her to the Conclave, but it became more than that after Velahari became the Herald. 

♣ - What is one thing that she finds embarrassing? 

Sappy, over-the-top displays of affection. She has no qualms with PDA when she’s the one doing so, but if, say, Abelas suddenly swept into the hall with a bouquet of flowers and spouting poetry in her honor, she would positively die.

☁ - If shes’s caught out in the rain how does she react?

Fena’dea does not quite have the love of rain and storms Velahari does. She’ll tolerate the rain if she’s in the middle of hunting or training or traveling, but otherwise, she’ll head for shelter and wait until it lets up.

☺ - Does she prefer sour or sweet treats?

Fena’dea has an incredible sweet tooth :3

❄ -  Favorite season and why?

Summer, most definitely! Fena’dea likes the heat, the humidity, the freedom of being able to hunt or move around in the forest without fear of getting lost and freezing to death.

♥ - What does ‘love’ mean to her?

Love is respect, and admiration, and protection, and the desire for intimacy. It’s gentle and fragile, but also frenzied and tough. It’s the reason to keep going even when it doesn’t seem like anything’s going well; it ties her together with others, and without it she would be lost.

♠ - What is she afraid of?

Velahari is afraid of loss. Her mother died when she was young, and her father, from what she recalls, seemed to lose a piece of himself after her mother’s death. Even then, he grew distant and eventually died scarcely a year later. 

She can be overprotective of those she considers friends and family, and can be too forgiving if someone does wrong by her - she has a terrible habit of accepting apologies when someone doesn’t deserve her forgiveness. That said, she’s also incredibly accepting (part of the reason why she welcomed Blackwall back to the Inquisition after discovering his secret).

It’s also partially why losing Solas hit her so very hard.

♦ - What is one thing about them that they are most proud of?

I’d say she’s most proud of the good work she’s done as Inquisitor. She’s able to not only help the populace by closing rifts and stopping Corypheus, but she’s able to have a stake in the future of mages across Thedas who deserve at least a chance for freedom.

♣ - What is one thing that she finds embarrassing?

Velahari can’t really take any sort of teasing - her face reddens, and she tries to change the subject abruptly when it crossed into territory concerning her and sensitive information. This fully includes her romantic relationship with Solas, though it’s more than simply teasing there - she does not enjoy when people catch them kissing (let alone anything more romantic and less platonic). She’s had to explain to Solas that it isn’t him and their association that’s embarrassing, but rather her own insecurities and the knowledge that others can catch them unawares.

☁ - If shes’s caught out in the rain how does she react?

She tends to pause if she’s in the middle of something, her eyes will close, and for a few moments, she’ll just stand there, enjoying the feel of the rain.

☺ - Does she prefer sour or sweet treats?

She prefers sour by far. She’ll eat sweets on occasion, but usually they’re too rich for her palate.

❄ -  Favorite season and why?

☾ - sleep headcanon: To be honest, Fena’dea probably doesn’t get as much sleep as she should. When she was younger and had fewer responsibilities, she was teased about sleeping so often, but now the voices of the Well of Sorrows keep her up - or she’s worried for Velahari, or Abelas, or herself, of the future of the elves.

■ -  Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon: Fena’dea’s quarters are simultaneously orderly and messy. She could tell you where to find what you’re looking for, but you’d spend all day picking through her crap to find it.

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon: While Fena’dea doesn’t really like to use a bow, she’s skilled with its use. She’s actually one of the better archers in her clan - though only Velahari really knows that.
