Now that his terrible attention had turned away from her, she could think nearly clearly again. The first move was to let the revealing spot of the writing pad slide under the keyboard. Afterwards she felt a lot better. She even managed to focus on the problem. And that would have been fine, if she stopped turning into a brainless zombie every time her boss was around. “Maybe somebody took it for final tests”, she mumbled into her cup of tea. “I will check if there are any tests scheduled in the lab today.” There were none. Apart from a mysterious test sequence in Lab A-51, labelled ‘tinfoil hats’. Probably a prank played at some new recruits. “No, there aren’t”, she answered the question only a few seconds later and suddenly the story turned out interesting. A mystery. She loved mysteries! Her sixth sense felt a real whodunit story dawning. Oh the excitement! She had red all of Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie! And even some modern Swedish novelists. „Where has the object gone missing?“, her inner investigator demanded to know. „In a storage device, a lab or an office? And when has it been seen the last time? And is something else missing too? We should check the crime scene thoroughly!“
