Because he is tired and everything kind of hurts, scratches and bruises everything and he thinks maybe a rib is broken ? Breathing is kind of hard. Thinking is kind of hard too. He is so exhausted, but he had been very determined to get here, get out of the storm and to the only place that might give him safety.
