                   any other time his lips would tug up in to a sly smile, comment on how ichigo actually DOES care, or lean into her embrace and soak up all her gentle touches while he could. instead, he finds himself ignoring her demand, staring up at her ( HIS ENTIRE WORLD ) with dull, almost lifeless eyes. a small part of his brain tugged with confusion and uncertainty. if this situation had been reversed, would he treat her with the same kindness? no, he would smile, caress her cheek and tell her it was all for the best. that was what was expected of him, wasn’t it? he couldn’t sacrifice the safety of his people over a human. and he wasn’t allowed to truly bring himself care about his toy. ( OH, BUT HE DID. WITH EVERY FIBER OF HIS ENTIRE BEING ) many times he had tried and tried again to offer her a way out, her own place in paradise with him, but she denied him every time. if it came to the point where he had destroy her once and for all, he would do it without hesitation....wouldn’t he? so, why? why was she treating him so kindly over an injury when she knew he wouldn’t do the same for her? humans were such complex creatures. he’d never understand their ways.
