Description:

Fei Fei always believed in Chang'e, but she never imagined her father would bring a new wife and son home without telling her. Four years after her mother's death.

She never asked for a stepmother. Nor a brother.

And then her father stopped believing in Chang'e at the family dinner during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

So, she took her scarf and vanished without a trace with her rabbit, Bungee. The only one she had left.

Where to? To the pond.

The pain in her heart grew stronger, unaware that the Moon would answer her call and envelop her in its magic, transforming her into an immortal creature of great beauty and danger: a Huli Jing.

I transformed Fei Fei into a beautiful Huli Jing (Kitsune). I enjoyed creating it using a technique I saw in a YouTube tutorial called clipping masks, which allows you to paint a closed area of ​​your entire stroke green to add color and prevent pixelation.

Same story, different fate:

The moonlight streamed through Fei Fei's bedroom window, offering a glimmer of hope, suggesting that Chang'e might be real.

But in this universe, the bright silver light never materialized. There was no hope. There was never an idea to build a rocket. She never went to the moon. She never discovered that Chang'e was real. Only pain and depression.

Fei Fei grabbed her rabbit, wrapped her scarf around her neck, and slipped out of the house unseen until she reached the pond where her family used to spend their evenings. She knelt and wept uncontrollably, lamenting that her mother would be replaced by her new stepmother and that Ba Ba would likely stop paying attention to her.

Her heart was completely broken, unable to even notice.

The moon began to shine brightly upon her, as if something were calling her inside.

Fei Fei began to feel an inexplicable, terrible pain. And her mother's scarf fell away from her.

The moon enveloped her in its magic, and a roar of pain, or perhaps a plea, escaped her lips. It transformed her into a powerful Huli Jing, but one imbued with lunar powers.

She opened her eyes, confused, but upon seeing her reflection in the pond, she was utterly terrified by her physical transformation. She truly wasn't ready. Why had the moon transformed her?

When she heard her father's footsteps searching for her after noticing her absence, she feared he might see her like this and see the fear in her eyes. She grabbed Bungee and escaped along the lake's shore.

She fled directly into the forest near her hometown and decided to stay until she learned how to control her Huli Jing form and use her lunar powers. Now she understood that the cause of her transformation was her pain.

Her sudden disappearance quickly drew the attention of the villagers, who joined forces to search for her, but without success. The news spread as far as Taiwan.

For days and weeks, she learned to survive, using her albino fox form to hunt small animals in the forest and fish for food, and to find berries on small trees.

And Bungee? She stayed by her side and would never leave her.

Foxes are cunning and love to steal. But Fei Fei didn't like to steal. It was wrong. But she had no choice. And sometimes, Brincos carried her in her arms.

For days and evenings, she watched her village of Wuzhen from a distance, sometimes transforming into an albino fox to take a look around. If only she could become human again, she could go home and hug her father, who was there and whom she missed so much.

But it wasn't to be. Mrs. Zhong and Chin were still in the house. This enraged her.

The pain and betrayal that lingered in her heart changed her forever.

She was no longer the girl she used to be: dreamy, persevering, stubborn, intelligent, and curious. Now Fei Fei has become a cold, cunning, rebellious, sometimes cruel, and solitary girl.

Fei Fei only retains her human personality when Brincos is near and when someone promises not to forget her or abandon her.

Her purpose is to make her story a silly myth and for her family to feel the same pain she herself felt.
