Some time ago I was stuck in a faulty strategy. I thought that the number of followers I have actually reflects my worth as a model or content creator, so I was just spending my precious time chasing followers. I know you know what I’m talking about, you do #s4s too don’t you? ;) How much time and energy are you consuming just for this particular strategy? I’m telling you: much more than you should. You’re going to say... but more followers, more sales, right? It’s counterintuitive, but not necessarily! I have seen pages of 50K+, hell 100K+ followers who aren’t making any money, and some other pages under 10-15K followers who are kicking a$$ in the business. Hell, even I still have a 50 000 followers page that I simply let go of because it wasn’t worth investing my time in. I am very happy with this smaller page because it helps me reach those clients who truly appreciate what I do and most importantly, see the value in what I am creating. Yes, Instagram can mess with the numbers we used to see back in the days, but that doesn't mean we should let that create disappointment, frustration, or… ahem jealousy in us. My point is: the follower or likes count doesn’t say you are worth more or less than others. YOU are the one deciding how much you are worth. When you are feeling like no matter what you do is not enough, what happens is that an instant earlier you made an unconscious decision that you’re not enough. Decide right now that no matter the numbers you are worth massive success! Say it loudly! Then ask yourself if you already had the number of followers you wanted, what would you focus on then?
