Luke & Vicky | Should this be feeling wrong?
Getting back from his day shift at the bar, Luke had never felt more knackered. He certainly wasn't up for all the work he had to be doing at the moment, not to mention having to juggle it with all of his studying and trying to please his girlfriend, although that was seeming impossible right now. Whatever he did or say, she always had something critical to say to him. Just the other day when he brought up the idea of having a Christmas party at his place - an idea he thought she'd love - she started accusing him of purposely brushing her off and choosing to rather spend his time at a party than being with her, although she knew she'd be invited too.
Luke hated things between him and Charlotte being this way but he didn't know what he could do to make it better and that's where Vicky came in. Vicky and Charlie had been best friends since way before Luke and Charlie even met and when Vicky offered him her help in trying to help him work things out between the two of them he jumped at the chance, knowing that the one person who knew Charlie better than him would be his only help in sorting this whole mess out. Luke enjoyed being in Vicky's company, it felt like the way him and Charlotte used to be before the romance came in and gradually started to mess everything up. They could sit there and talk about anything they wanted and he never felt like she was judging him and that he could slowly be his true self around her, something he didn't do very often.Â
Day by day, Luke felt himself wanting to spend time with Vicky more than Charlotte and he ended up starting to invite her over to spend time with him whenever he had a free hour, instead of calling Charlie. He convinced himself there was nothing wrong with it, he was only doing it so he could get advice from her but deep down he could feel that there was something wrong about it. It wasn't like there was anything going on between the two of them, at the moment he just liked Vicky more. Unlocking his iPhone he brought up his messages, clicking on the most recent one from Vicky and typed, 'Advice needed! Fancy coming over? I have ice cream.' Without any hesitation he hit the send button and placed it on his dresser while he walked through to his en suit and climbed into the shower, needing to unwind after a long day.
