Still on the teeny tiny trees! Fancied trying a weeping style one but good grief it's fiddly 😳 I've listed one so far, and have some clamped to stones or crystals so they'll be ready in a day or so. The rest I've either sent off already, or haven't photographed yet... promise I'll get that done this week. I have some little round mirrored discs coming too to add as bases for the minis if that's a thing anyone wants... and I've realised the boxes I already have for the dome trees are a perfect size so I'm .... organised? Rosy chicken with Simple baked rice and Green salad with The best red wine vinaigrette, from A new way to dinner by Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs +++++ This whole week I've decided to cook from a great Food52 book that promises "strategies for the week ahead". The idea is that on Sunday you do a ton of prep, and then you're set for five dinners (with dessert) and even some lunch ideas for the leftovers. It's a genius plan, and one every busy parent needs, providing you do actually have time to cook on Sunday. The week plan I chose is Merrill's and the first dinner we tried was actually dinner four in the official list but the husband couldn't resist the smell of chicken and tomatoes baked in garlic and rosé wine coming from the prep kitchen. The rice, by the way, was cooked pilaf style with onions and garlic, and was hands down the best I have ever made. The kids disputed the "best ever" title of the vinaigrette (they like my other staple recipe which adds mustard better) but overall this was a complete winner of a chicken dinner.
