"Not your fault, but you ordered me to be stuck here." Oddly, the urge to stick out his tongue struck him, but he suppressed it. "How long're you on break?"
"Well...yeah, I did." He huffed. "If you can do it, so can I." He mumbled out, shrugging his shoulders in response. "Half an hour or so? But I can make it more. My shift's too boring for only half an hour of break."
"Oh, hell no. You trapped me here, and you're stuck with me. You hear me?" His hand darted out to grip Jim's, squeezing tightly in case he dared leave.
"I didn't trap you per say, it's your own damn leg that's broken, not mine." Jim huffed, wanting to stick his tongue out, but eventually deciding against that. His eyebrow perked up as he felt Bones's hand on his , not even thinking of leaving just yet, anyway.
"I intended to stick around anyway. My shift's boring as hell, this here's nicer." Even with Bones being as grumpy as ever. If not more.
He scowled then and turned away from Jim. "Fine," he grouched. "You just come to gloat, then?"
"Hmm, no I came to keep you company." Jim shrugged. "But- if you don't want me here, I could just go too, y'know."
"Jim. 'm alright. M'Benga and I treated the humanoid, but it turned on us." He swallowed, harsh breathing punctuating his words. "'m goin' out there to try and talk it down before it kills us both."
Jim started at confusion at his CMO. "What the hell are you talking about? You don't need to do that, we'll send our Security guys out there, Bones, that's what they're here for!"

McCoy's eyes nearly disappeared, he was squinting so tightly. "And who's in charge of Sickbay while I'm bein' held against my will?"
"Whoever's in charge when you're not around- everything's under control Bones, take it easy, would you?" Jim frowned as he moved over, dragging a chair to sit down next to the bed. "It'll be fine without you until your leg's healed up properly."
Hazel eyes narrowed even more dangerously as his arms crossed over his chest. "You're enjoying this," he accused. "You like that you're not the one stuck here, for once."
Oh as if that wasn't obvious. For once it wasn't Jim who was confined to his room, of course he would abuse this for as much as he possibly could.
"Of course I do. How many times does that happen?" Jim shrugged his shoulders, a wide grin on his face. "It's not the most horrible thing to happen though, come on, not like the universe is going to implode from you staying here a few more days."
PADD messages don't allow for the fierce scowl that sat upon Leonard McCoy's face as Jim entered the room. "See, I'm fine. Let me out of here now, Jim."
Jim rolled his eyes, letting a huff out as he made his way over to Bones, shaking his head slightly.
"As if. You're staying here, until I say you can leave. And you're not leaving until I see you standing on your own without crutches and what else."
