Whilst I have been working on illustrations for the book about Aaron in Uganda, I have been staying in touch with my publisher Denise. Denise has recently visited Uganda and has met with Aaron. Aaron has had his eye operation and as miracle would have it, Aaron can now see for the first time. It has been fantastic to hear how well the operation has gone for Aaron and I really am thrilled to be illustrating this amazing true story. 

Here are some of the wonderful pictures that were kindly sent over to me to help with my illustrations which Denise had taken whilst on her trip in Uganda.

These pictures have been really helpful but also very exciting to get a true feel for the beautiful town of Jinja where Aaron lives. 

My aim is to capture these bold colours within the story and also capture the Lake Victoria and the sandy roads, tall trees and blue sky. 

I have sent a couple of my illustrations over to Denise of some of the characters so far and also a couple of scenes that I have put together in colour. Admittedly I was nervous to receive feedback, but, thankfully she liked my designs so far. I was even more relieved to hear that Alex, the author of the story, also likes my work so far. (phew)!

Include several members of the team. Feedback from many sources is more useful than feedback from one person.

Avoid the truly dangerous practice of asking wrong questions.

Provide an opportunity for thoughtful response.

Engage in forward-facing conversations. Discuss the past to better create the future.

Address foundational behaviors, not passing anomalies.

Meeting 30-03-2016

Vandaag hebben we een meeting gehad met Kim (marketing manager van Fit For Free), Thomas (onze begeleider vanuit Netvlies) en Martijn (collega vanuit Netvlies) om ons concept tot nu toe te presenteren. We hebben goede feedback gehad en gelukkig waren de reacties positief!
