AN: Keep sending me Christmassy prompts! I’m accepting them until the 24th! :D
“Steve,” came Tony’s muffled voice from beneath four layers of thick clothing, “I’m dying.”
“No you’re not,” Steve rolled his eyes fondly, watching his footprints appear in every inch of snow he stepped in. “You have four layers of clothes on - how are you not sweating?”
Tony just whined pathetically in reply. “Why are we doing this?”
“Because it’s fun!” Steve insisted, catching a handful of snow from the top of a huge bank beside him to flutter between his fingers. “We could make a snowman! Or go for a walk -”
“Trek,” Tony corrected under his breath.
“Or we could make snow angels!” Steve grinned, more than aware of how annoyed he was making his husband. “Think of how fun that’d be!”
“Be fun to put a foot up your ass,” Tony grumbled again, and Steve snorted with laughter.
“Come on, honey,” Steve hummed, shuffling through the thick snow to wrap his heavily clad arms around Tony. “Just imagine smores by the fire, Christmas TV, and snowmen. Sounds, great, right? Get in the Christmas spirit!”
Tony hummed from between the numerous layers of clothes between them, and then mumbled, “I guess it does sound really good.”
“It does?” Steve grinned widely, dropping a kiss on the top of Tony’s head. “Then don’t hate me...”
“What -?”
Tony didn’t have time to finish his sentence before Steve had clamped his hands tightly around his squirming body and flung them both into the nearest bank of snow. Steve held on tightly, grinning all the while, as Tony screamed and flailed in his arms; he wasn’t going to let him off quite that quickly, no matter how cold and wet it was.
“Steve!” Tony screamed, finally slipping out of Steve’s grasp, only to go flopping like a fish into the snow for another few seconds. “Fuck!”
Steve was too busy cackling aloud and rolling out of the snow onto the icy ground to help his husband; Tony continuing to flop around like a fish was the funniest thing he’d seen in a while.
“That’s it!” Tony shrieked, scooping up a hand of powdery snow with a flailing hand. “You’re in for it, Mister!”
Steve, even with the serum, didn’t have time to duck as Tony flung - rather haphazardly - the powdery mess all over. Steve caught at least half a mouthful, and grunted in surprise; Tony, in turn, started to laugh.
“Ohhh, dear,” Steve purred, ignoring the ice melting on his tongue. “You’ve started something here, pal.”
“Bring it on, Capsicle,” Tony replied dramatically, and then threw himself behind the nearest snow bank to protect himself.
“You’re in for it now,” Steve crowed, grabbing a handful of snow gleefully. “I have super-soldier aim.”
“And I have engineer precision,” Tony retorted from behind his snow bank.
Ducking behind his own bank of snow, Steve began to prepare an armful of snowballs for the battle that was sure to commence. He loved his husband, sure, but he was competitive as hell.

AN: Welcome to Fic Every Day ‘Til Christmas (or the equivalent, because some days it’ll be impossible, so I’ll make up for it with two the next day)! I’ve not written one of these in a while, so be gentle with me <3
People often thought that Tony hated Christmas; hell, for the longest time, he had. Spending many a Christmas morning alone, his parents off partying somewhere warm, hadn’t exactly been great for Tony as a kid, and then losing said parents around the holiday season had made things even worse.
But... Tony didn’t hate Christmas. Not really. He hated the bad memories that he associated with the holiday, but not the holiday itself, especially when the whole point of Christmas was to be loving, giving, and happy.
As he’d grown older, had managed to amass a number of friends and family who weren’t likely to leave him for the Bahamas or die suddenly in a car crash, Tony found he actually quite enjoyed the Christmas season. He had enough money that he could spoil everyone rotten, and still couldn’t get over the look of absolute wonder on Steve’s face whenever he saw their tree, freshly decorated and looking like it had been dressed by Jesus himself.
Tony’s absolute favourite thing about the holiday, however, had to be the mistletoe. He didn’t know what it was about it - whether it was the fact that, where before, mistletoe had had a seedy, hookers-and-coke connotation for Tony, and now meant affection from the people he cherished the most, he wasn’t sure. He just knew he loved it profusely and irrevocably.
Especially since it was an opportunity to badger his friends with love.
Mistletoe was usually the first Christmassy thing Tony decorated the tower with. He waited until everyone was either in bed or otherwise occupied, and then he snuck out of the workshop with a box full of the stuff and got to work.
He hit the communal floor first; that was where the biggest opportunity of Christmas smooches lay, after all, so it deserved the most attention. He quickly taped a sprig of mistletoe in the elevator doorjamb, and then another in the kitchen doorway and also the bathroom. He’d even - because his annoying Christmas spirit knew no bounds - created a few holographic versions of mistletoe, so he threw one above the couch in the lounge and watched with glee as it hovered above the furniture.
After that, he rode the elevator to every floor in the building, including the work spaces, and taped a sprig of mistletoe to every elevator doorjamb. He scattered a few more around the Avengers’ private floors, making sure to be quiet so as not to attract suspicion, and then headed for his own floor to finish up.
All in all, he was very proud of his work. So many Christmas kisses were about to be had.
---
Surprisingly, he managed to get Clint first. The archer was usually barely awake before 11am, so when he staggered into the kitchen at 8am one morning, Tony knew he had his chance.
“Morning, snoozy-puss,” Tony greeted cheerily, scooping his coffee off the counter and casually sauntering over to the door. “Merry Christmas.”
He ducked past Clint in the doorway, and - as they both got caught under the mistletoe - he leaned in and smooched Clint directly on the lips. Clint immediately let out a sleepy squeak and a hilariously confused noise, and began glancing around quickly, as though expecting some kind of monster to jump out. In doing so, however, he instead spotted the mistletoe above their heads, and let out a put-out noise and a not-quite-disgruntled grumble, all while Tony grinned and danced off to his workshop.
Mission accomplished.
---
Across the following week, Tony managed to sneak at least one kiss from all his friends. He caught both Pepper and Rhodey in succession as they exited out of an elevator; Natasha surprised him by appearing from nowhere to drop a kiss on the very tip of his nose; Thor was all too happy to partake in the holiday tradition and scoop Tony up at all possible opportunities for a smacking kiss and crushing hug, and Bruce was already used to Tony’s casual affection, so barely even reacted when he got a big ol’ smooch in the lab doorway one day.
And then there was Steve.
He and Steve had been together for a few months, so this was going to be their first Christmas together. Tony didn’t need an excuse for just randomly laying a kiss on Steve, because God knew he was a beautiful human being and deserved kisses all the time, but he certainly liked an extra excuse to show him affection.
“Good morning, beautiful,” Tony purred, watching in a quiet awe as Steve came awake next to him one morning.
“Mmm,” Steve hummed with a sleepy smile; he pulled the covers closer around him and then shuffled closer to Tony for an embrace. “Mornin’, y’self.”
Tony grinned and easily accepted Steve’s hug; he loved how sleepy and Brooklyn-y he was first thing in the morning.
“Hmm, guess we gotta kiss,” Steve hummed, still smiling serenely.
“Huh?”
Steve nodded towards the ceiling, and Tony turned to see one of his holographic sprigs of mistletoe hovering above their head. He let out a little snort and turned back to Steve.
“Well, you know the rules,” he agreed, and leaned in to accept a chaste, loving kiss from Steve. “We’re all just slaves to the holiday, after all -”
“Shut up, Tony,” Steve told him fondly, before tugging him into a much more thorough kiss.
Yo, okay, so y’all seem interested in the fic every day ‘til christmas, so I’m gonna open my prompts up for christmassy prompts from now ‘til the 24th :)
