I haven’t been on here in a while, but I’m reaching out because I’m about to graduate from art school in the spring, and I know that social media can be a big factor in how I get jobs in the near future. I’m going to put my art Instagram here so if you guys could give it a follow that would be great!! I post fairly regularly so you’ll get some nice art content :) thank you very much!

I went to national portfolio day in philly and i heard that it gets like super crowded so me and my dad got there at 9:30 (the thing starts at 12) and we were like the 10th group in line so that was great. the guy in front of me though had probably the best art i would see all day tho. so it really intimidated me, but throughout the day i saw very few more pieces that were as nice and polished as his so it was a little reassuring.

So since i was early when i get into the room i run straight to risd’s table (which is completely empty) and im the first one there!!!! its like my top school so i really wanted to get to see them. AND i didn’t have to wait in extremely long lines so i was super happy. a few hours later i looked back at the risd table and it was completely packed so :   -   ))) (yikes sorry ppl ya shoulda been here at 9)

anyway the guy at risds table gave me some nice feedback, he liked about half of my works which was nice, at least he didnt tear me to shreds ya kno. he gave me advice like add figure drawings (i didnt have any oops) and put in sketchbook pieces. so ya that was fun. then i went to my second choice (pratt), and there was one girl in front of me, but for a very short time, and then the guy looking at my stuff was a cute so i was nervous haha. he liked more pieces than risd and gave me about the same advice, more figure drawings, add some conceptual art, etc. then i went to mica. that guy wasn’t as pleased wth my stuff, and was a little rude about it, but its ok i guess bc its not really in my top 3. I went to kutztown too and they didn’t like my stuff that much either. I might not even apply there just bc i’m just looking at it so my parents wouldnt judge me for only applying to art schools. and University of the arts was probably the most enthusiastic ab my art. the guy was loud and italian and since my dad is loud and italian they were talkin it up. any other time i would have like told him to leave but if he can make this guy like me then go ahead ! i think it went well bc he said he would talk to admissions about me and theyd get back to me, so he said not to apply until they email me. i think thats a good thing ??
