Simon was called eccentric by some for his strange determination to drill and dig--in reality, his obsession was fueled more by a desire to go forward, to advance, as it were. The years and years of monotonous excavation were ceaseless, but it just so happened that he escaped the cycle eventually--and the years afterward only suited to allow his resolve to keep on digging to strengthen more and more. Why was this important in the city of the Hive? Well, for one, he had twenty minutes a day to put that resolve to use. And he'd been doing this for days, weeks. Ever since he had it returned. Hovering through the streets was Lagann, its carapace closed, but holding a large, thick glass container on its back--filled to the brim with jewels of all kind, though they were clearly unfashioned. The sheer amount, the oddity of its huge face on the front--they were more than enough to get Simon and Lagann a few strange looks. He didn't mind, though, he was only really interested in finding a place that could sell these and make a profit. Money was a pretty big deal around here--if he had some, he might be able to make a bigger difference in the city. He usually didn't care for stuff like that, but when his powers and capabilities were so limited, he had to do what was within his capacity as a human. Having turned a corner, though, he came to an immediate stop--just barely avoiding a direct crash into an old-fashioned-looking woman, with a strange set of horns on her head. It looked like the crescent moon to Simon.
「Whoa--you all right? Sorry about that! Didn't mean to give you a scare--most people would have a heart attack around here if they saw a high-speed face flying at them like that.」
Popping open the carapace to show her his face, Simon flashed a sheepish grin at her, scratching his head. He didn't know what he was getting himself into.
