According to the data collected from EBSCO database, an online information resource from research databases, e-books and e-journals with focus in researchers, there are 38 papers related to the main category of fear of crime produced in 16 countries, but the three more relevant are from Belgium, Canada and United States, with the 58% of the whole academic production in the field.

Talking about the discipline where these researches have been produced, there are 7 of them but just 3 of them have an 84% of the paper production: Criminology, Psychology and Sociology; the core disciplines that have built this field on inquiry, nowadays.

About the year variable, which is very important because of the impact of the 9/11 event in New York on academic environments, if the EBSCO is looked up, we will find papers from 2005 to 2013, with cumulative papers in the last three years by 84%, all of this knowledge written in English (95%). Â
As you see, the line publications after 2011 increased significantly, if we make a bivariable analysis, it is possible to see that there are 3 countries and the same number of disciplines that play an outstanding role in the Fear of Crime research indexed in EBSCO: Belgium (16%), Canada (13%) and United States (31%), and Criminology (42%), Psychology (16%) and Sociology (32%).

What does it talk about? In EBSCO data base during the past years, the criminology from United States became the main field of researches about Fear of Crime field, despite Psychology and Sociology made an effort to have a role in the field. This also shows us the impact of the Policy against Terrorism in the country after the 9/11.
