Meant For This Love is a sequel to my story Double-Pointed Needles, and it’s about Draco and Ginny's difficulty conceiving. A weird topic since I am not a person who has ever wanted children. I wrote about 10,000 words and stopped because I worried too much about what readers would think about the ending even though it would have been a happy one, haha. A snippet from the first chapter:

Draco came home from work to find Ginny in their darkened bedroom, entrenched in a fortress of blankets and pillows.
“Ginny?” he said, his voice soft. “Are you ill?”
The pile of blankets trembled, but Draco couldn’t discern if they trembled in the affirmative or negative sense.
He perched on the edge of the bed and gently dug through the blankets to find his wife huddled underneath them. “Ginny?”
“Hermione is pregnant,” she said, her voice thick with emotion and hoarse as if she’d cried for the last several hours.
Draco’s gut clenched in dismay, and his hand fell away before he could touch her shoulder. A piercing cold punctured his heart and began to frost his internal organs. Ginny didn’t have to say any more. Like her, he grew more exhausted each time someone they knew announced a pregnancy, and jealousy, unencumbered by the cold in his heart, made its home in his ribcage.
Ginny rolled over to face him, her eyes red-rimmed and emotionless after what had clearly been an afternoon of fatiguing grief.
Unable to resist touching her anymore, Draco climbed into the bed and scooped his wife into his arms. She lay limp against his chest, too exhausted to move.
“We’ll keep trying, love. We won’t stop trying,” he said in as soothing a voice as possible.
“I don’t think I can anymore. It hurts too much when we fail.”
He wanted to tell her not to think of it as failing. They had not failed. Life had failed them. But as her brothers’ and their friends’ families continued to grow, some of them now on their second or third child, he, too, could not help but feel like a failure.
As a Malfoy, he needed to produce an heir. As a husband, he should have been able to provide his wife with a child. As a man, he desired nothing more than to bring new life into the world, a baby made up of a little bit of him and a little bit of her. Her tenacity. His ambition. Their combined stunning good looks. Any child of theirs was bound to be remarkable.
At work his mind was often distracted by thoughts of how having children would add to their already nearly-perfect life. What would their children look like? How would they behave? Who would they take after? The idea of his mother becoming a grandmother and spoiling his offspring the way she had spoiled him growing up filled him with a joy he didn’t know he was capable of feeling. This wasn’t just Ginny’s loss. He felt the sting of unrealized dreams as she did, even if not to the same degree.
