           “For the love of -- Alec. Would you just stop? You’ve got bigger problems than worrying about how I’m still alive right now, don’t you think? Your boyfriend got fired from his job, and all of his friends are telling you he’s miserable. Go take care of him, because I am fine. Not dead. And that’s what matters, isn’t it?” Losing his patience with Alec wasn’t something Jace did often, and really,  this time, it wasn’t fair. The blonde was the one hiding something, and lying straight to his parabatai’s face -- but that was better than telling him the truth. And Jace really, truly believed that.

          it’s raining. and she’s covered in blood. naturally. that seems to be how clarke spends most of her time now; or dirty in some form. months on earth had desensitized her to it all, and she barely blinks at the way the ground turns dark red from the blood washing off her. head turns slightly when she hears the squish of boots in mud, not even needing to open her eyes --- after so long around someone, spending so much time with them, occupying the same space, it’s just second nature to know who it is. “i’m fine, bellamy.” head tips, blue eyes opening despite the rain that continues to hit her face. “just need a moment.” after all, she’d just spent four hours sewing a kid’s leg back together. she needed some fresh air.

        ‘‘ hey —- did you drop dead & forgot to tell me ? ’’   she asked with a half hearted smile once the voice at the other end of the line was heard —- at least Reyna hadn’t lashed out her frustration. damn, she was hungry !   ‘‘  y’know   —- if you take longer than that to get here i’m seriously considering start eating this table. it’s not a mahogany one, but will do. is everything ok?? ’’
