edelgard should have had supports with sylvain where they talk about crests and how it contributes to the deeply rooted sexism present in fodlan society (especially faerghus) and how it impacts both them ex. edelgard likely would have been forced to marry for power and passing on her crest rather than love and sylvain feeling like women only want him for his crest
