Launch of Forcibly Displaced People Network
We are delighted to launch the Forcibly Displaced People Network (FDPN), the national voice of LGBTIQ+ people in forced displacement. FDPN is the first organisation in Australia dedicated to the issues of LGBTIQ+ forced displacement and driven by lived experience. It was established to promote human rights and inclusion of LGBTIQ+ people whoβve been forcibly displaced through peer support, strengthening services and policy responses.
Β FDPN builds upon the successful work of the Queer Sisterhood Project and the 2019 Queer Displacements Conference. The FDPN website is coming soon and will provide comprehensive information on our work, including exciting events planned for this year. We will also establish an LGBTIQ+ refugee advisory group.Β
More details will be available in the coming months. In the meantime, you can sign up to our updates (https://lnkd.in/ejJE2YH) and follow us on Facebook (@FDPN.LGBTIQ) and Twitter (@FDPN_LGBTIQ). We are looking forward to working towards a world where LGBTIQ+ forcibly displaced people are included in societies and are safe, free and supported.
