*     ‣     @fazwrist​   :   ❝ hey, springs, ❞ gregory starts, breaking the comfortable enough silence between them. freddy’s charging again, giving him some dead time. time he spends down in parts and service, tending to a couple scrapes with some of the stuff found from the medical kit nearby. ❝ would you ever want to be fixed up ? ❞     )

      the  rabbit  was  sitting  to  the  back  of  the  room  ——  “ i  like  it  here ”  they’d  say  if  asked ,  thought  whether  or  not  that’s  the  whole  truth  would  remain  something  only  they  knew .  either  way ,  it  was  dark  in  the  corners ,  no  light  to  sting  their  eyes  or  put  them  on  display .   that ,  and  it  concealed  how  much  they’d  scratched  up  the  floor  idly  picking  at  it .   spring  was  doing  just  that  when  gregory  speaks  up ,  their  good  ear  twitching  as  they  crane  their  head  up  to  glance  at  him  out  of  the  corner  of  their  eye .  they  look   . . .   confused ?  startled ?

      ❝   i - i  uh   . . .   c - can’t  say  i - i’ve  th - thought  about  it ,  ch - champ .   ❞     that’s  a  lie ,  but  what  were  they  they  supposed  to  say ?     well ,  y’see  kid ,  i’ve  gone  an’  gotten  attached  to  this  hunk’a  junk !  all  the  damage  is  all  i’ve  got  these  days ,  y’know ,  the  couple’a  times  it’s  actually  felt  like  MY  BODY .     yeah ,  ain’t  the  prettiest  thought  is  it ?  and  ——  oh ,  shoot .  they  could’ve  just  told  him  the  weathered  look’s  grown  on  ‘em ,  huh ?  yeah ,  they  could’ve  done  that ,  but  talking  with  the  kid  was  neve - wracking .  it  had  been  so  long  since  they  heard  children ,  since  they  shared  a  space  with  them   . . .   well ,  children  whose  hearts  still  beat  and  whose  hands  were  still  warm  that  is ,  who  still  had  a  chance  to  be  tucked  into  bed  by  someone  who  loved  them .  it  left  a  looming  sense  of  DREAD  hanging  over  them .  what  if  they  slipped  up ?  what  if  they  scared  him  again ?  what  if  they  hurt  him ?

      there’s  the  quiet  scratch ,  scratch ,  scratch  of  them  scraping  a  metal finger  against  the  floor  again .

the stars are the thing that stella can speak on about for hours on end, despite never once having seen them before.

there’s a part of her that’s so certain of knowing what it must be like to gaze upon one.    perhaps it is the remnant of her deceased soul, clinging to old memories   ;   but it’s almost saddening...  knowing that this body she inhabits will most likely never have that luxury. her experience of the stars are confined to the marks across her skin that glow like them and the knowledge she speaks of from data bank. there’s a certain glow to her when she speaks of the stars, however - this almost human radiance, adoration. to fantasize of witnessing a life that burns so far away and for so many years  ---  to be the thing that someone looks up to and prays to when the night is dark to watch over them.

      the  walls  of  freddy  fazbear’s  were  no  stranger  to  SECRETS ,  those  ugly  things  that  rotted  it  from  the  inside  out .  though  perhaps ,  this  is  one  not  even  the  staff  of  the  megaplex  themselves  is  aware  of .  the  rabbit  was  an  outlier ,  a  stowaway ,  they  didn’t  fit  in   :   but  when  had  they  ever ?  they’ve  been  the  black  sheep  for  years .  hiding  away  from  the  glitz  and  glamor  of  the  ‘plex  wasn’t  a  great  feat  they  had  to  accomplish ,  it  was  just  an  adjustment ,  it  was  familiar .

      what  wasn’t  ,  however ,  was  the  sound  of  little  feet  far  too  loud  to  be  the  rats ,  just  out  of  their  sight .  the  rabbit  wasn’t  STUPID ,  only  addled  by  age ,  they  knew  the  sound  well   :   a  child ,  down  here ,  all  alone     (   don’t  you  know  what  happens  to  little  scamps  all  on  their  own ?  don’t  you  know  what  happened  to  susie ?   )     it’s  a  sense  of  RESTLESSNESS  crawling  through  their  wires  like  mites ,  their  hands  jitter  and  shake .  a  kid  can’t  be  here .  springtrap  leans  over  a  table  covered  with  tools  and  bolts  to  squint  into  the  dark  of  parts  and  service ,  a  long  ear  anxiously  twitching  .
