fayehill's first kiss is one that is long overdue. they both spend months (perhaps years) pining for each other without even realizing it's mutual. both are oblivious to the other's stolen glances, bated breath, and uncharacteristically timid hands; too caught up in their own heads and feelings to catch on. there are various reasons on both sides for their hesitation and reluctance to believe that anything could ever happen between them, but faye is the first to cast her worries aside when she realizes she'd regret it if this opportunity passed her by. which is a big step for her because she was convinced love just wasn't meant for her in this life !!

one night, while out for a drink (they do this fairly often), faye finally confesses her feelings to her cowboy. he responds by admitting to her that he'd been "wanting her to want him for a long time," and they just keep getting closer and closer to each other until boothill asks for permission to kiss her. the culmination of all their yearning jam packed into a single kiss, except they can't get enough of it and decide to drown in each other instead.

fayeveil have an easier go of things and realize their feelings for each other much sooner than the former (it's probably due to the fact that faye has already entered the world of the galaxy rangers, so ashveil wouldn't feel guilty about potentially endangering her, and faye wouldn't feel like she's derailing his goals). their first kiss happens after faye learns first hand what one of his episodes is like, and much like in this pic, she rushes to his aid, wiping away his blood and sweat while kissing into his hair.
