Fawn, blackberries and golden apple. Felt tip pen on A3 paper. I like to scribble little notes on my works when I’m sketching. Sometimes it’s elements, such as blackberries and golden apples, like in this one. At other times it can be colors or animals that might fit. This one is keeping with the Autumn colors and paced back colors in experimenting with. A friend is helping me compile a coloring book of my works, prior to them being colored in by me. I always try and take a photo of my ink outlines, before the color is added. Honestly, I’ve messed up a few drawings, adding colors that didn’t quite fit or were too bright all together. Photographing the ink outlines let’s me save the dead pieces and give them life in another way, by playing with them in illustrator. Sometimes it works, sometimes the process is so long, I end up re-drawing the work by hand. It’s all process and brings me a greater joy.
