I really think this ship is super cute!  I feel like Ruby would allow Pyrrha to open up to her inner child and teach her how to appreciate the little things in the world around them. I don’t imagine Pyrrha had much of a childhood and Ruby would sort of give that back to her. Ruby wouldn’t treat Pyrrha like she was on that dreaded pedestal. If anything, she’d climb up on that pedestal to keep Pyrrha company.

     SPEAR. the short answer is no. canon interactions give literally no basis for this ship, as neptune has clearly stated he is attracted to weiss. and just by going off of canon interactions alone, i don’t see them being a thing. it’s difficult, because they never cross paths for very long. and because of how underdeveloped neptune is right now i’d say i don’t think i can see them together. i don’t like to ship characters with little development... he’s just that flirty kid with some underlying self image issues that were seemingly resolved with little effort【 i mean, he is too embarrassed to dance with weiss but in the vytal festival he dances with sun in front of a large crowd? come on roosterteeth, you could’ve done better than that. i digress, i will talk about my canon grievances on a later date 】that being said, even though i recognize that canon has made a decision, it’s a stupid ass decision and i have therefore elected to ignore it.

     okay hear me out. blake’s outer self is distrustful, reserved, and aloof. but underneath all that she is driven and confident. neptune’s outer self is easy-going, open, and overly confident. but underneath all that he is insecure and unsure about what he wants in the future, and he’s not at all trustful of others. she’s emotionally mature and he’s emotionally immature. so at first glance, they’re complements of each other. where one fails you’d expect the other to pick up the slack. except that’s not so clear-cut either. so there’d initially be a lot of friction in the relationship because they see a lot of themselves in the other and they don’t necessarily like those aspects in themselves. and i think there’s a lot to be said about awkwardness between them. it’s not like blake has much tact, and neither does neptune. they’d say the wrong thing and hurt the other’s feelings and it’s just. a mess.

     you’d think that’s the end of that but it’s not. because i think they have a lot of personal issues to overcome before they can open up for real. once they have though, once they’ve had those awkward self discovering bouts of anger, they see the good in each other. because the way i see it, they’re very loving people who want to give that love to others, they just don’t know how, or at least, not in the way they want to. but they can always learn, and i always say that the best way for someone who is new at something to learn something is to do it with someone else who is also new at it. that... was significantly butchered but i think my point stands. once they start to help the other heal, they would probably be such a sweet couple that they’d give everyone else cavities.
