Mortals are living entities who are subjected to dying unlike Divine or Otherworldly creatures. More often than not, it means that they age, and can easily be killed. Today I will be talking about the "Mortal" beings that exist on Tellus.

The Humans: Humans have existed since the beginning of time, over the course of the years they have built plenty of things that evolved as well as help them in terms of their evolution. They have coexisted with all sorts of creatures that have existed on “Tellus” alongside them or Interdimensional beings that moved there. Unlike their ancestors, they have evolved as well to have superhuman abilities that will help them survive in the abstract world they currently reside in or when they live in another dimension….however not all of them have these abilities. ✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦ There aren't a lot of human based subtypes, however there are a lot of human subtypes that are based around being a product of a human and a non-human. But when it comes to humans, it usually is just a normal person... Most common amongst the beings, they don’t usually have any special abilities about them unless they are able to tap into magical essence, the magic that exists across all worlds, that is linked with their soul and subconscious. Unlike the humans in other universes, the humans in this universe can be born with unnatural eye colors and posses some abilities and skills that help them survive the abstract realm that is Tellus. This is usually determined by genetics or magical essence they are able to use.

The Faunae:
Long ago during the beginning where Man and Beast were two separate beings. These beings often fought each other for survival, and endless chaotic and destructive cycle.…There was a Nature Goddess who watched this seemingly endless battle between Man and Beast, which caused her great pain. The Goddess was named Devana or “Mother Nature” as morals would call her….After growing tired of the endless battles she decided to step in between one of these battles, hearing out both of their problems, an idea struck. Devana decided to merge the two beings to become an entirely new creature so they both have a better understanding of each other and be harmonized as one…they are known as “The Faunae”.
✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦
The Faunae and their subtypes are classified in their own categories as they all come in different shapes and forms
Average Faunae: are mixed between humanoid with some animalistic features. An example would be a person with rabbit ears and a tail along with the same diet as a rabbit or a cat faunae with feline-like eyes and claws.
Beast Faunae: are a type of being who looks more animalistic then humanoid. They can be mistaken for were-beasts because of this.
Mythical Faunae: are humanoid faunae who have traits from well mythical creatures, an example would be someone with unicorn features! These are more rare so you don't see many of these
Hybrid faunae: hybrids are usually a mix of any race and a faunae, they can range from demon mixed traits to even were-beast mixed traits. The type of hybrid possibilities are almost endless and are fairly common to see but not as much as your average faunae.
Aquatic Faunae: they are a subgroup of faunae that can only live in bodies of water. Or at least next to a body of water for their needs. They can range from saltwater to freshwater types. An example can be a seahorse faunae to crocodile faunae.
✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦ The Florians:
Florians started off as simple plants…but as time progressed they to became more and more humanoid. You see long ago these plants yearned to live amongst man and beast but alas the people could never hear their cries..until Devana noticed, she felt for these beings and thus gave them the ability to evolve and live amongst the world like everyone else on “Tellus”. At least that is what the stories tell…They have evolved alongside humans, beasts and monster for centuries…these plant-like beings were given the name “The Florians”.
✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦
Florians are a species of humanoids who resemble varying plants, because of this they are classified in their own subtypes as well. Note; all Florians when it comes to their gender work the same way like realistic plants do!!
Floral: Floral Florians are humanoids who are largely based around flowers! They have a lot of flower-like qualities when it comes to their anatomy and depending on the flower has the same needs as them.
Fungus: Fungus Florians are humanoids based around various forms of Fungi, particularly mushrooms! However mold based Florians are known to exist as well! They are usually seen with big mushroom caps on top of their heads and other times they are seen with little fungi growing from their own bodies.
Wood: Wood Florians are humanoids based around trees and shrubs alike! their skin is often made out of food while their "hair" is made of the leaves depending what kind of wood based plant they are made from. Like most wood based plants in colder seasons their leaves change color but they don't fall off during the winter. Instead they tend to sleep around that time until spring comes.
Carnivorous: Carnivorous Florians are humanoids that primarily eat meat as a source of nutrients! They are based on all kinds of varying Carnivorous plants and unlike their other Florian subtypes they have sharp teeth and claws.
Hydro: Hydro Florians are humanoids who are based off of various water based flora that exist across the varying worlds. They tend to stick around fresh or saltwater areas depending on the type of plant! Their needs are met from the water itself. Their appearance varies, if a Florian is based on a water lily they have a beautiful flower on their head and be able to float along the water. If a Florian is based off of seaweed then their “hair” is made of the same stuff and tends to be very long and have the ability to survive underneath the water compared to their counterparts.
✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦︶꒦꒷☾꒷꒦︶✦ Now my friends...these are but only a few of many beings and creatures that exist across Tellus and other realms....Stay tuned for more~
It’s possible to have a faunus from any classification of animal but there is a hierarchy of how common they are due to compatibility. Land mammals are the most common followed by aquatic mammals, fish, reptiles, bugs and birds. Land mammals like tigers, wolves and bears tend to mesh the best with the human frame that faunae and faunus share with the animal trait. Aquatic mammals- as they’re still mammals, also mesh well with human bodies. The only problem are the occasional mermaid syndromes that result from both fish and aquatic mammal traits.
Fish are harder- typically it results in a faunus/faunae with sealable gills or second eyelashes meant for underwater. Faunae and sometimes faunus end up with scales across their skin. The scales tend to be thin, soft and translucent material- in this case it doesn’t affect the faunae in any detrimental way. The only result is that the faunae gets to shimmer like a star in daylight or sunlight. In more extreme cases, the scales are stiff and impede the movements of the poor faunae in question. These fanuae often caretakers to look after them. The scales can be itchy and can be soothed by medicated oils, lotions and creams for short periods of time.
Reptiles are the next common mesh but this is where inherent danger really starts coming to play. Faunus and faunae of reptile types tend to have simple features- forked tongues, thin scales and spines down their backs. The greatest concern with reptile faunae and faunus is the fact that they have a chance at being cold-blooded. It’s a serious risk factor as the cub runs the risk of either freezing to death or overheating. They’d need constant attention and materials to protect them. Climate control undersuits are mandatory for them to leave climate controlled rooms. Of course, they always run the risk of suit breaking or malfunctioning which can seriously endanger the person.
Bugs tend to be born with antennas or wings. Bugs that get any other traits have a near 70% fatality rate. Most bug faunae and faunus die because their trait ends up being an exoskeleton. Which is 100% fatal as human organs cannot operate with a bug’s exoskeleton. Most are stillborn but a small percentage are born breathing but in agony and die within an hour or two after being born if they’re not simply put to sleep in mercy.
Birds are the least common type for the simple fact that the animal trait is usually hollow bones. Hollow bones and mammalian labor are not a good mix. If the baby isn’t surgically removed, then 99% of the time, the baby is crushed to death by contractions. Those that live are often riddled with broken bones and are required to stay in the hospital to be cared for.
Faunae and faunus imprint as cubs.
Imprinting is a link of aura connecting to another person's aura. Imprints happen when faunae are cubs and are too weak to defend themselves. The link is there so they know this person as someone who will protect them and oftentimes will run to this person if they're scared. Cubs are always aware of the lowlevels of aura that doesn't belong them and it makes them feel protected. The link makes it possible for them to flare their own aura in panic to have their imprints retrieve them from the situation that's upsetting them.
For this reason, most imprints are with their parents.
Imprints require three main aspects:
The cub feels safe around them and that their survial chances would go up with them
The cub feels like they can ask for advice and not be turned away
The cub feels that they can tell this person just about anything
Imprints eventually fade overtime and most have dissolved when the faunae is 13 years old. However, if an imprint is snapped when the cub is young, it's possible that they will form other imprints beyond the typical age and will develop slight separation anxiety around these people.
Imprints can be snapped when the person who they'imprinted on dies or forcefully yanks their aura from the link rather than letting it fade naturally. The cub usually desperately latches onto people with the desire for wholeness, protection and safety.
Sapphire's imprint with her parents snapped when they died. When Ozpin adopted her, she imprinted on him strongly and had temper tantrums the first few times he tried to leave her for any reason. Even if he was just going to the store. Eventually her separation anxiety calmed down and she began to accept that he'd come back to her. Sapphire then imprinted on Pyhrra and Yang when they came to Beacon.

~Tsarina Natasha Frostinia~
Natasha is the current ruler over an island known as "The Frostlands" that exists in a region known as Elementum. She is a snowbird faunae and a powerful Ice Sorceress. The people who know her say that she is gentle yet cold...much like the snow itself...
where did you come up with the names for Faune and Florian?
Faunae is literally just the word "Fauna" but i put an e at the end so it'll sound like "Fawn-Nei" Florian is from the word "Flora" and added extra letters to it so it'll sound like "FLO-ree-ahn" you know like the name?! yeah!
