“i might've been alone in the lighthouse, but i’m starting to think i’d rather be there.” sarcasm and a touch of bitterness drenched his tone, only proving that he didn’t mean it. not a hundred percent, anyway. sure, he had people to talk to here. ‘food’ to eat. but it was different.. there was music that grew really old really fast, actual food, only a box, alcohol, that’d be gone in a matter of time, and a television that he’d broken. he was only there for two months and he’d gone insane. 

but there, on the ground, there was a fight. against himself, maybe, but it was still a game of survival. one that john had grown accustomed to. the only game he’d grown to know. one that he didn’t have back up on the ark. up there, it was only a waiting game. waiting, for five years. only a few months in and he already hated it.

blue hues were cast down toward his hand, white bouncy ball weighing in it lightly. with a flick of his wrist, the ball hit the floor and flew back into his grip. “one more bowl of algae and i’m going to float myself.”

Alona never thought she would find someone to love-- she never thought she would have that person in her life until the day Bellamy walked into her shop, trailing after his sister and her fiancee who were shopping for their wedding. In the end she ended up doing the flowers for the ceremony and the bridal party, and in that process became close to the clan. Then a year later-- she found herself living with Bell and now-- well now she couldn’t imagine her life without him in it. 

HE’S FOLLOWING HER.    there was a time when she would have liked bellamy blake trailing after her, seeking her out but that time ended with her father’s life.    now all she feels is frustration,   anger.    she doesn’t want him anywhere near her, because every time she looks at his face all she can think of is    this is the man who got my father killed.   (                 or at least she  wishes  that’s all she could think of  !  )    behind the thick layer of hatred and the hurt lays something else.   a confusion, a disbelief that   HE COULD REALLY DO THIS TO HER.    but he did !    HE DID.    which makes the twinge of attraction she still feels when his arms flex lifting supplies or when he stares down at her even worse.    she hates herself   for a lot of things anyway though, so just add that to the list.

Damn, she was about to jump out of her skin. It was his first time away, the first time she and Octavia had been without him, the first time they had to worry for his safety away in lands unknown. His letters had been a surprise, a delightful one ( she still had tomorrow circled in her calendar, she wondered if he’d forgotten or regretted the letter asking her on a date yet. She bit down on her lip hard enough that she was surprised she didn’t taste blood, rising on tiptoe to scan the crowd exiting.

Lincoln was laughing as Octavia stretched herself much the same way, the taller man able to see the dark curls coming before either girl had so much as spotted him. But when they did, ohhh, when they did.

“Bellamy!” They shrieked in unison, but it was Octavia Fox glanced to, who’d already bolted through the crowd to greet her brother. It was Fox that stayed by Lincoln, grinning so widely her cheeks hurt, waiting for the Blakes to come back to her and Lincoln after their reunion. She’d missed him so badly it was like a limb had been missing, but she didn’t want to interrupt the siblings’ moment. She hadn’t gotten the grin under control by the time they reached her and Lincoln, by the time Octavia had returned to Lincoln’s side in delight, and simply grinned at the boy who seemed older than when he left ( was that even possible? he’d only been gone ten weeks ) shyly, unable to make the move to touch him.

Keep it friendly. Like an olive branch for his unexplained absence the past few weeks. Bellamy was just overworked though probably not undersexed to want to take a night off and come out with the guys. Unfortunately he didn’t think much further beyond the look on Bellamy’s face when he was greeted with Fox or Octavia. Right now, his focus was on the older Blake.
