arms are crossed over her chest as she sits perched on   (  @fatalelity​‘s  )   desk,   if she didn’t know better lauren would say her frame’s held together with nothing but tension as she waits.  it feels like it’s been hours,  though she knows it’s only been fifteen minutes at the most,  before addison actually walks in and lauren finds herself second guessing.  okay,  maybe she can’t do this  —  she can’t risk getting confirmation of her fears,  can she?  because...  ha,  then what?  chest’s tight as her gaze meets addison’s,  and lauren swallows hard before speaking,   “hey.  i thought you’d be here,  but then you weren’t,  so i waited.  it just occurred to me that you might be busy though so i can go if you want.  but i just... i wanted to...  to talk to you about something.  i mean,  i need to ask you a question and i need you to be straightforward with me,  okay?”

“ seven? my our seven? ”    something akin to disblief mixed with so much curiosity and amusement crosses her features. she doesn’t hold back the laugh that begs to escape, something so lighthearted. there is absolutely no denying that addison is just becoming her new best friend. no wonder she’s part of seven’s life.    “ i cannot believe that cool, badass seven would have done something like that. this is great. let me guess, no one even dared to make a comment about it, huh? ”     . . .     @fatalelity​

                 the brunette stares at the other for several seconds.  this looks bad.  she is standing in a stranger’s kitchen with a bloody knife.  but she just needed somewhere to clean up! the back door was unlocked so she had let herself in.  magnolia shakes her head,  perfectly curled chocolate waves falling into her face.  her doe eyes begin to water.  “i-it’s not what it looks like,”  she whimpers.  / @fatalelity

“is this your kid?”   there’s a hint of impatience,  of discomfort,  as she gestures to the child,  sparing a glance between the girl and the woman seven hopes is her mother,   “she’s latched onto me for some reason and i’m...  not really a kid person,”   not true,  strictly speaking,  but the fact that she’s lost every child she’s ever had  —  in one way or another  —   is perpetually haunting   ❪  though she’s heard from mezoti recently so the knowledge of her safety is comforting,  at least  ❫.   “plus...”   the distance from the twins and mezoti prompts a knowing softness as she pauses briefly,  taking a moment to push back the pangs of sadness and grief that push through her heart at her thought process,   “plus i figure you must be worried if your kid’s run off somewhere,”
