I won’t be repeating a bunch of reviews that has been done over and over again in a lot of reviews and YouTube videos. You’ll watch those if you’re in the market for backpacks anyway. So, I’ll focused on the key information that I can’t find prior to getting this pack.

I’ve been traveling with my old National Geographic DSLR backpack with the camera area as main storage (I’m not using my DSLR anymore anyway), it doesn’t fit for a 5-day trip — I had to put some stuffs on my fiancee luggage. So I’m in the market for a proper backpack. Proper backpack, with compression straps, load lifters, hip belt, and what not. Ultimately, a proper pack that's easier on my back. The pack hunt actually inspired by my cousin’s Kelty Redwing 50 — also a great pack, especially for its customizable fitting.

A few important points on the Farpoint;

Farpoint’s removable daypack + kangaroo mode is what ultimately seal the deal. I can use the daypack for regular day-to-day use, and it fits my 15” MacBook Pro (some videos and forum posts mentioned that it didn’t — my guess is it was the older model with grey lining).

Flight friendly, in my case, safe (lockable) and checked in friendly. Many of my first (and last) leg will be in flight, I prefer checking in than carry on.

Front compression straps is kinda meh (doesn’t really push the pack closer to my back), but it’s also kinda smart since it can be use like a front bungee to hang stuffs off of.
