I was very tempted to pick the “nothing I like about them is technically canon” because of how many headcanons about him I’ve collected that really contribute to how wild I am about him, but also I absolutely adore many of the canon tidbits we do get. Also the “got done dirty by fans” is just that there aren’t enough Byrne appreciators. The like four other Byrne fans I’ve talked to are the hugest brained people I’ve ever met. And Byrne has indeed done a thing wrong in his life and that’s yelling at Gumshoe like that.
