“So-” She rocked on her heels for a moment, “Larking about the universe, kissing strangers a regular sort of thing for you then?”

The Doctor flushed, but he managed to grin back at her, “Only the pink and yellow human variety of strangers.”

“And how many of those have there been?”

The Doctor bent down to kiss her, then pulled back just enough that their lips brushed as he answered, “Strangely enough, just the one.”

Rose grinned, giddy and light. A commotion on the side caught her attention, and she turned to see Adam struggling with the credit stick, the people behind him in the line getting annoyed. She winced,

“I’m gonna go and help him out, yeah?” She said, already walking backwards. The Doctor nodded, watched her leave, and then turned around, on his own mission. There was something wrong with this place. And he was determined to find out what.
